We are seeking a Director of Artificial Intelligence to lead the strategy, architecture, and hands-on implementation of AI solutions across the enterprise. This is a highly technical leadership role for a builder who can design AI systems, develop and deploy models, and translate business needs into scalable, secure, and compliant solutions. The Director will drive practical AI adoption across operations, patient engagement, revenue optimization, imaging, and internal systems within a regulated healthcare environment. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Define and execute enterprise AI strategy aligned to operational and clinical priorities 

  • Architect and deploy AI solutions integrated with the enterprise data warehouse 

  • Embed machine learning, predictive analytics, and forecasting into reporting and decision workflows 

  • Identify and automate high-friction workflows (e.g., revenue cycle, scheduling, reconciliation, anomaly detection) 

  • Translate business problems into measurable AI-driven outcomes 

  • Prototype, build, evaluate, and deploy AI/ML models, including LLM-based systems 

  • Establish MLOps standards, including monitoring, versioning, governance, and retraining 

  • Evaluate and govern third-party AI tools and vendor solutions 

  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Marketing, RCM, Accounting, Clinical, IT, Security, Product, and Data teams 

  • Ensure AI solutions meet HIPAA, security, privacy, and ethical AI standards 

 

Must-haves 

  • 3+ Years of experience in AI/ML, data science, or software engineering 

  • 7+ Years of professional experience in Software Development. 

  • Proven experience building and deploying production AI systems 

  • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL 

  • Prior experience writing t-SQL and working with SQL Server Management Studio 

  • Hands-on experience with ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) 

  • Experience designing AI architectures integrated with enterprise systems 

  • Experience working with data pipelines and cloud AI/ML services 

  • Knowledge of APIs, microservices, data security, and privacy best practices 

  • Experience with MLOps and model lifecycle management 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field 

 

 

 

Nice-to-haves 

  • Master’s degree or PhD in a related field 

  • Experience in healthcare, health tech, SaaS, or regulated environments 

  • Experience with LLMs, generative AI, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) 

  • Background in optimization, forecasting, or scheduling algorithms 

  • Familiarity with medical imaging, clinical data, or EHR integrations 

  • Experience evaluating build vs. buy AI decisions and managing vendors 

  • Experience scaling AI initiatives in a fast-growing, multi-site organization
