Position Summary
The Director of Auxiliary Services oversees activities and supervises personnel in housing, vending, concessions, special events, bookstore, and food service operations of the College. The Director also serves as the liaison for any third party vendors contracted for various auxiliary functions. Additionally, the Director coordinates with internal departments in regards to receipting of funds. The Director is expected to manage the various auxiliary functions as a business, while meeting the needs of our students.
Salary: Appropriate placement on the ACCS Salary Schedule C2: $80,715 - $125,160
(Salary placement within this range is determined by your documented years of full-time related work experience)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate through their experiences and accomplishments:
A minimum of five (5) years work experience in postsecondary education;
Demonstrated experience in event planning or food services;
Previous experience in accounting or a business background;
Excellent relational skills;
Ability to establish, maintain, and reconcile point of sale systems and payment gateways;
Ability to produce profit and loss statements for various functions and maintain compliance with financial recordkeeping;
Ability to maintain inventory counts;
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Proficient computer usage in email, internet, word processing, etc;
Demonstrated success in strategic leadership to include planning, evaluation, budgeting and research;
Strong service orientation and ability to effectively work as a member or leader of a team by cooperating with others, offering to help others when needed, and considering larger organizational goals rather than individual concerns. Includes the ability to build &/or support a constructive team spirit where members are committed to the goals and objectives of the organization;
Ability to plan, organize, and successfully multitask to meet multiple deadlines and frequently new work tasks within required timeframes. Proven flexibility to successfully work on a variety of projects quickly and accurately;
Ability to work various hours, including nights, early mornings, and weekends;
Ability to travel amongst various campuses and attend College events, on or off campus, as required;
Ability to plan, assign, direct, and review the work of others;
Ability to make decisions in accordance with institutional policy;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, other employees, and the public in a pleasant and effective manner;

Sick Leave
All regular full-time non-instructional staff earns one day of sick leave which is the equivalent of 8 hours of sick leave per month. Unused sick leave is rolled over to the following year. Upon retirement, employees are allowed to convert unused sick time into service time for the purpose of retirement. Retirement
The TRS was established in 1939 to provide benefits to qualified persons employed by state-supported educational institutions. Responsibility for the management and administration of the TRS is vested in its Board of Control. The Boards of Control elect the Secretary-Treasurer who serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the RSA and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the RSA. The TRS is a defined benefit plan qualified under Section 401(a) of the Internal Revenue Code. For more information visit The Retirement Systems of Alabama. All regular full-time and part-time employees (non-temporary and non- student) who work at least 20 hours per week are required to participate in The Teachers Retirement System of Alabama.

PEEHIP, established in 1983, provides health insurance benefits for active and retired education employees and is governed by the PEEHIP Board of Control. Tobacco Usage Premium
The tobacco premium applies only to the PEEHIP Hospital Medical and VIVA Health plans. Refer to the Wellness Program section to learn how you and/or your spouse can receive the non-tobacco user discount.
Wellness Premium
The wellness premium applies only to the Blue Cross Blue Shield Hospital Medical Group #14000 plan for non-Medicare eligible active and retired members, non-Medicare-eligible members on LOA or COBRA, and non-Medicare-eligible spouses on active or retired contracts. Refer to the Wellness Program section to learn how you and/or your spouse can receive a wellness premium waiver.
If desired, the employee may elect four options rather than health insurance options to include hospital indemnity, cancer, dental, and vision.

Tuition Assistance
This tuition waiver program is designed for all full-time instructional and non-instructional employees of The Alabama College System and the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education and their dependents as defined under by policy. The program will be coordinated by each institution for employees within The Alabama College System and the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education. An application form for the tuition assistance program is available in the Human Resources office and should be completed prior to registration for classes.
