About the Director of Banquet Operations Position

Our company is looking for an experienced and energetic Director of Banquet Operations to join the team at The Westin Book Cadillac. As the Director of Banquet Operations, you'll take full ownership of our banquets department. You'll lead a team of event and hospitality professionals to ensure every banquet delivers an exceptional guest experience.

Director of Banquet Operations Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all banquet department operations, ensuring seamless execution of events

• Work closely with clients to understand requirements and desires for each banquet event

• Brainstorm and present event ideas and concepts to clients and leadership

• Manage the banquet department budget, including all invoices and cost controls

• Book venues and schedule any notable guests, such as speakers or musicians

• Negotiate with sponsors, vendors, and suppliers for banquet needs

• Hire, train, and develop banquet personnel

• Oversee all banquet operations, including venue setup and food and drink preparation

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations for all banquet events

• Resolve conflicts and operational issues as they arise

• Obtain all necessary event permits

• Manage post-event performance reports

Director of Banquet Operations Requirements

• BA in hospitality, business, or a similar field

• 5+ years of progressive experience in banquet operations management, with prior leadership experience

• Proven experience managing banquet events

• Previous experience working in a union environment

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills

• Superb multitasking and organizational skills

• Strong project management and team development capabilities

• Proficient with Microsoft Office and various event management software

• Portfolio of successful banquet events preferred

Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Oxford Capital Group. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc.  The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel's employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment.  If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000 per year
