Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

Degree in data analytics, sports management, computer science, statistics, kinesiology, or a related field. 2 years of experience in a comparable baseball systems, analytics, or operations role at the collegiate or professional level.

Position Summary

The Director of Baseball Systems will be responsible to lead the design, implementation, and daily management of the program's data, video, and technology infrastructure. This position serves as the central hub connecting player development, advanced scouting, recruiting, and sports performance through data - translating raw information from designated tools into clear, actionable insight for the coaching staff and student-athletes. The Director of Baseball Systems works closely with the Head Coach and full coaching staff, sports performance and athletic training personnel, compliance, and athletics IT to ensure the program's technology and analytics operations run efficiently, accurately, and in full accordance with NCAA and SEC regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Technical proficiency: Hands-on experience with baseball technology platforms such as TrackMan, Rapsodo, Synergy Sports, Blast Motion, or Yakkertech.
  • Data skills: Strong proficiency in Excel ; working knowledge of SQL, R, Python, or Tableau strongly preferred.
  • Compliance knowledge: Working understanding of NCAA rules and regulations related to recruiting communication and data sharing.
  • Communication: Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for coaches and student-athletes.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent travel with the team, including overnight and weekend trips during the competitive season.
  • Ability to work variable and extended hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Some exposure to outdoor weather conditions at games, practices, and bullpens.
  • Ability to lift and transport equipment (cameras, radar/tracking units, laptops, and related gear), typically up to 25-35 lbs.

Data & Analytics Systems Management

  • Own and administer all on-field data-capture systems for practices, bullpens, and games, ensuring consistent, accurate daily data collection.
  • Maintain the integrity, organization, and long-term archiving of the program's performance database, including biomechanical, ball-flight, and tracking data.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and custom reports that summarize player and team performance trends for coaches.

Video & Advanced Scouting

  • Administer the program's video platform- overseeing capture, tagging, editing, and distribution of practice, game, and opponent film.
  • Prepare advanced scouting reports on upcoming opponents, including pitch-usage tendencies, batted-ball data, defensive positioning recommendations, and situational hitting/pitching profiles.
  • Manage real-time, in-game data and video support so coaches have immediate access to pitch counts, matchup history, and advance-report information.

Player Development Analytics

  • Translate raw data into digestible reports that connect mechanical feel to measurable outcomes.
  • Partner with pitching and hitting coaches on pitch design, swing optimization, and individualized player development plans.
  • Collaborate with sports performance and athletic training staff on integrated athlete-monitoring initiatives, including workload tracking and return-to-play data.

Recruiting Systems & Database Management

  • Maintain and administer the program's recruiting database/CRM (e.g., ARMS, Front Rush, or comparable platform), ensuring prospect data, evaluations, and communications are current and organized.
  • Integrate analytics and scouting data into recruiting evaluations and prospect grading in coordination with the recruiting coordinator and coaching staff.

Percentage of time 15 Duties/Responsibilities

Technology Strategy, Compliance & Staff Support

  • Evaluate, procure, and manage vendor relationships, licenses, and subscriptions for baseball technology and analytics platforms; maintain and troubleshoot associated hardware (units, cameras, radar, wearables).
  • Train coaches, support staff, and student managers on data systems, video platforms, and reporting tools; serve as the primary technology point of contact at home games and during travel.
  • Ensure all systems, data-sharing practices, and reporting comply with NCAA, SEC, and University of Georgia policies, including data privacy and countable athletically related activity (CARA) considerations.
  • Support special projects and other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or athletics administration.
