Job Description Summary

The Director of Brokerage (“Director”) is a pivotal leadership role within our New Jersey commercial real estate practice, responsible for overseeing a dynamic team of brokerage teams and individuals. This position is dedicated to leading our brokerage business across all asset classes for leasing and capital markets. The Director will drive operational excellence, foster effective collaboration across business lines and corporate partners, and ensure the highest standards of client service and business integrity.

Job Description

  • Management of Brokerage Teams: Lead, develop, and restructure teams, ensuring alignment with company standards and client needs. Provide mentorship and performance oversight to maintain a high-performing brokerage environment.  Evaluate and measure performance of our brokerage talent based on financial performance, cultural impact and potential. Manage annual business development allowance (BDA) spend in partnership with operations team.
  • Client Service Excellence: Cultivate relationships with key clients of our firm, and ensure our brokerage teams are delivering tailored solutions through supporting pitches, presentations and client engagements.
  • Talent Recruitment and Retention: Identify, attract, and retain top talent in the commercial real estate sector. Develop strategies for team building, professional development, and succession planning to support the retention of our top talent.
  • Conflict Resolution: Demonstrate advanced skills in resolving fee disputes, managing market collisions, and facilitating constructive dialogue among stakeholders. Handle sensitive negotiations with professionalism and tact.
  • Collaboration with Corporate Partners: Work closely with our operations, human resources, finance, marketing and research  teams to ensure seamless business processes and best in class platform support for our brokerage teams.
  • Champion Enterprise Mindset: Encourage cross-functional collaboration and integrated service delivery with all business lines (i.e. Asset Services, Project and Development Services, Valuation and Advisory and Global Occupier Services).
  • CRM and Sales Team Leadership: Champion the use of CRM systems (with emphasis on Salesforce) to drive business development, track performance, and optimize client engagement. Lead high-performing sales teams, implementing best practices for pipeline management and client retention.
  • Agreement Review: Collaborate with legal counsel to review and approve commission, services and other agreements, ensuring compliance with internal contract standards and local real estate agencies.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.


The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.


The compensation for the position is: $ 191,250.00 - $225,000.00
