Job Description & Responsibilities:

Persistent Systems is seeking a Director of Business Development, Air Force.  This individual will be a part of the explosive growth side of Persistent Systems to usher in long term acquisition programs and deliver cutting edge technology to the warfighter. You will serve as the operational lead and subject-matter expert in the development of MANET architecture for Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) and Aviation (to include Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA)) architectures. You will also play a pivotal role in communicating technical challenges to our engineering department, helping to shape future product development with your insight into customer challenges and market needs. You will be responsible for the advanced overlay network architectures within a cloud environment. This position provides the opportunity to deliver technologies that solve some of our customers’ most difficult networking problems.

 

This position will have the ability to work remotely near Hanscom Air Force Base in the greater Boston area.

 

Position Responsibilities 

  • Execute a vision and engagement plan to support future generations of airborne communications (manned and unmanned)
  • Forge strategic relationships with military and Defense Industrial Base partners by solving critical problems with cutting-edge MANET and communication technology
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance for architecture design and development of highly resilient, dependable technology platforms including compute, network, communications, storage, integration, and security 
  • Develop solutions that incorporate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) suites and capabilities in cloud-connected and disconnected networks
  • Travel to CONUS and OCONUS military installations to meet face-to-face with military end users, civilians of all ranks up to General Officer and Senior Executive Service (SES) members 
  • Showcase thought leadership through tradeshows, associations, customer demonstrations, digital campaigns, and press events 
  • Communicate Persistent Systems’ value proposition to varying technical and non-technical clients, including executive “C'' level management, VP, and Director levels, and end-users 
  • Build winning proposal responses to further strategic efforts including unsolicited white papers, requirements documents, and full proposal responses targeted at Air Force acquisition programs such as Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS), Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2), Joint Fires Network (JFN) and platform-specific weapon communications requirements 
Job Qualifications & Experience :

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related engineering, business or information technology 
  • 5-10 years of experience with the US Air Force systems, C-UAS, or communications communities and relevant experience and knowledge of Air Force modernization efforts, AFLCMC, key program offices, and the requirements generation process  
  • Working experience operating within the POM and PPB&E cycles of Department of War  
  • Detailed insight into the Air Force and Intel Community mission with emphasis on Intelligence Operations and Services-related programs is required 
  • Able to travel 50% of the time, higher if remote 
  • Ability to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Master’s degree in engineering, business or a related field 
  • Defense Acquisition University (DAU) credentials in Acquisition or Contracting 
  • Sales engineering and/or consulting experience 
  • Knowledge with NSA Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) program 

The compensation for this role can vary from $160,000 to $180,000 a year based on individual qualifications. Eligible for sales incentive compensation plan.
