We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Director of Business Development to join our team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in the engineering industry, specifically with DoD experience. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a passion for sales and business development, and has a deep understanding of ground and vehicle weapon systems, missile defense, and missile launchers. The candidate will be responsible for developing and executing business strategies to grow existing and new business, building strong relationships with customers, and leading sales management.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy that aligns with the company's overall vision and objectives.
2. Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the DoD sector, focusing on ground weapon systems, vehicle weapon systems, and missile launchers.
3. Maintain and grow existing business relationships through effective customer service and strategic account planning.
4. Lead the business capture management and planning process, ensuring a robust pipeline of opportunities.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of sales and business development strategies.
6. Oversee the integration of weapon systems and kitting for military projects.
7. Manage and lead the sales team, setting clear objectives and KPIs, and providing regular feedback and coaching.
8. Stay abreast of industry trends and changes in the DoD sector, adjusting business strategies as necessary.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA will be considered an advantage.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or sales within the engineering industry.
3. Proven experience working with the Department of Defense, specifically in missile defense, ground weapon systems, and vehicle weapon systems.
4. Strong understanding of missile launchers and the ability to integrate weapon systems.
5. Experience in business capture management and planning.
6. Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
7. Excellent leadership skills with experience in sales management.
8. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful business strategies.
9. Experience in military sales and kitting for military projects is a plus.
10. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
11. Ability to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events.
