Are you a strategic leader who enjoys developing people, improving operations, and driving results across multiple locations? G.F. Buche Co. is looking for a Director of C-Store Operations to provide leadership and direction for our convenience store division throughout South Dakota.

This is a traveling leadership role responsible for overseeing the performance of multiple stores, coaching Store Managers, implementing operational strategies, and ensuring every location delivers an exceptional customer experience. What You'll Do

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, coach, and develop Store Managers.
• Recruit, train, and mentor future leaders within the organization.
• Conduct performance evaluations and succession planning.
• Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.

Multi-Store Operations

• Travel regularly between convenience store locations to provide leadership and operational support.
• Oversee sales performance, profitability, labor, inventory, shrink, and customer satisfaction across all stores.
• Ensure consistent execution of company standards, policies, and operating procedures.
• Partner with merchandising, pricing, marketing, and support teams to drive business growth.

Strategic Planning

• Develop and execute short- and long-term operational strategies.
• Analyze financial and operational data to identify opportunities for growth and efficiency.
• Lead initiatives that improve profitability, customer experience, and operational excellence.
• Support expansion opportunities and organizational growth.

Operational Excellence

• Ensure consistent implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all locations.
• Monitor compliance with food safety, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce operating costs.
• Promote consistency, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the division.

What We're Looking For

Preferred Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing multiple retail or convenience store locations.
• Previous leadership experience overseeing managers and multi-unit operations.
• Strong understanding of retail operations, budgeting, inventory management, and merchandising.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or a related field preferred, or equivalent leadership experience.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively throughout South Dakota.

• Proven leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing multi-location P&L performance.
• Excellent communication, organization, and decision-making abilities.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to execute operational initiatives.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent travel between store locations throughout South Dakota.
• Ability to drive for extended periods.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout retail environments during store visits.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
