Weekly (4.5 hrs): 1 rehearsal (1 hr min), 2 Mass services (1 hr min each), setup/teardown (30 mins before/after), 1 weekly meeting (30 mins max).
Annual Allocations: 1 quarterly meeting (1 hr/qtr) + up to 78 hours for special services/training (e.g., Christmas, Holy Week).
Key Responsibilities:
Provide vocal direction and piano/organ accompaniment for two Sunday Mass services.
Lead congregational singing, soloists, and liturgical music (prelude, interlude, postlude).
Recruit, train, and direct a volunteer parish choir.
Conduct at least one 1-hour weekly choir rehearsal.
Coordinate setup/teardown of chapel music equipment and report maintenance needs.
Maintain physical/digital continuity binders and track CCLI copyright reporting.
Mandatory Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum 2 years leading music in a congregational worship setting.
Skills: Proficient in piano with the ability to sight-read traditional and contemporary Catholic music.
Faith Standing: Official Letter of Good Standing from a pastor verifying status as an active, practicing Catholic.
Audition: Must pass a 5-piece practical audition ("Almost Home", "Christ the Lord is Risen Today", "O How I Love Jesus", "On Eagle's Wings", and candidate's choice prelude/postlude).
Background Check: Must pass a Criminal History Background Check & Installation Records Check (DoDI 1402.05).
Restrictions: Relatives of chapel supervisors, chaplains, or DoD employees are ineligible.
