Our Early Education program has the unique opportunity to provide meaningful intergenerational experiences, allowing children and older adults to connect through activities, celebrations, and shared programming.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Director of Childcare to provide leadership and oversight of the SALMON Center for Early Education while supporting our children, families, and teaching team.

Your Mission:

Create an exceptional early learning environment where children can grow and thrive, families feel supported, and employees feel valued. You’ll provide strong operational and educational leadership while building a positive culture centered on collaboration, accountability, quality, and excellence.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide leadership and oversight of the daily operations of the childcare center.
• Manage center enrollment and support efforts to maintain and grow enrollment.
• Oversee payroll, billing, scheduling, recordkeeping, and other administrative functions.
• Monitor financial performance and operate effectively within the established budget.
• Ensure compliance with Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) licensing requirements.
• Support curriculum implementation and maintain high standards for classroom quality and programming.
• Lead, support, coach, and develop teachers and childcare staff.
• Communicate proactively and professionally with families, employees, leadership, and licensing agencies.
• Collaborate with the campus leadership team to ensure high-quality intergenerational programming.
• Support and participate in campus events, activities, and programming.
• Foster a positive workplace culture focused on collaboration, accountability, communication, and excellence.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children, families, and staff.

What You’ll Bring:

• Massachusetts EEC Lead Teacher Infant/Toddler (LT I/T), Lead Teacher Preschool (LT PS), and Director II certifications required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
• 3–5 years of previous childcare center director experience.
• Strong understanding of Massachusetts EEC licensing requirements and regulations.
• Experience working with state childcare subsidy programs.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience overseeing enrollment, staffing, and administrative functions within an early childhood education setting.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, employees, and leadership.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Procare Software is a plus.
