Morehouse Medicine seeks a dynamic and experienced Director of Clinical Practice to provide strategic and operational leadership for clinical services across the ambulatory enterprise. This position is responsible for the overall clinical administrative direction, coordination, management, and continuous improvement of clinical operations, nursing services, patient care delivery, quality initiatives, and clinical workforce development.
The Director of Clinical Practice will collaborate closely with providers, operational leaders, and quality teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, efficient, and patient-centered care while supporting the mission, vision, and strategic goals of Morehouse Medicine.
This position reports directly to the Chief Medical and Administrative Officer for Morehouse Medicine.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field from an accredited college or university required
- Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience in an ambulatory healthcare setting.
- Current, unrestricted Georgia Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Experience managing clinical managers, nursing staff, and clinical support personnel.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ambulatory clinical operations, quality improvement methodologies, regulatory compliance, and healthcare delivery models.
- Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience utilizing data analytics and performance metrics to improve clinical outcomes and operational effectiveness.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience in nursing, clinical operations, quality management, or healthcare administration.
- Five (5) years of experience supporting NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) standards, quality management, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Experience with population health management, value-based care programs, and quality reporting.
- Experience utilizing the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Demonstrated success leading change management and process improvement initiatives in a complex healthcare environment.

Description of Job Duty
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Director of Clinical Practice must possess the ability to lead, engage, analyze, and identify opportunities that support the growth, quality, operational excellence, and sustainability of the clinical enterprise.
Clinical Leadership and Operations
- Provide oversight of clinical operations, including budget management, policy implementation, resource allocation, and clinical administrative functions.
- Direct and supervise nursing leadership, clinical managers, and clinical support staff while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional development.
- Establish and maintain efficient clinical workflows and operational processes to optimize patient access, patient flow, and staff productivity.
- Ensure appropriate staffing models and balanced workload distribution across clinical teams.
- Lead and facilitate clinical staff meetings and interdisciplinary care team discussions.
Quality and Patient Safety
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, and patient-centered care throughout the practice.
- Monitor clinical quality indicators and operational performance metrics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with providers, quality leaders, and operational teams to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Promote patient safety initiatives and ensure adherence to organizational standards, clinical protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Support accreditation readiness and compliance with applicable federal, state, payer, and organizational regulations and standards.
- Utilize analytics, patient satisfaction data, quality measures, and operational reports to evaluate performance and drive improvements in care delivery.
Staff Development and Leadership
- Oversee clinical onboarding, orientation, training, and professional development programs for nursing and clinical staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and leadership development for clinical team members.
- Empower nursing and clinical leaders to practice and lead at the top of their licensure, certification, and scope of practice.
- Promote employee engagement, accountability, teamwork, and a culture of excellence.
Strategic and Fiscal Oversight
- Provide fiscal oversight of clinical operations, including budget development, monitoring, and management of clinical resources.
- Participate in strategic planning activities that support organizational growth, operational effectiveness, and clinical sustainability.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align clinical operations with organizational priorities and strategic initiatives.
- Lead relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the achievement of clinical and operational goals.
Policy Development and Compliance
- Develop, implement, monitor, and revise clinical policies, procedures, workflows, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support risk management and compliance initiatives related to clinical operations and patient care.
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the operational and strategic objectives of Morehouse Medicine.

Immunization Requirements
It is MSM's Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are encouraged to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate's offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
