Job Summary

Job Summary

We're seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Construction & Engineering Services to lead facility operations and capital projects for our hospital. In this role, you'll oversee construction, infrastructure, and engineering functions to ensure a safe, compliant, and high-performing healthcare environment that supports exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all construction, renovation, and capital improvement projects from planning through completion
  • Oversee engineering operations (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety systems)
  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, OSHA, NFPA, and CMS standards
  • Develop and manage capital and operating budgets
  • Partner with executive leadership on facility strategy, expansion, and modernization
  • Manage relationships with contractors, architects, and vendors
  • Drive preventive maintenance, system reliability, and energy efficiency initiatives
  • Build and mentor high-performing facilities and engineering teams

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • 8+ years of experience in construction, engineering, or facilities management
  • 5+ years of leadership experience, ideally in a hospital or healthcare setting
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare facility regulations and compliance requirements
  • Proven track record managing large-scale capital projects and budgets

Preferred Credentials:

  • Professional Engineer (PE), CHFM, or PMP certification
  • Experience in acute care or multi-site health systems
