Principle Automotive is seeking an experienced Director of Construction & Facilities to lead our growing portfolio of dealership construction, facility maintenance, and capital improvement initiatives.

This highly visible leadership position is responsible for managing multiple concurrent construction projects while overseeing the ongoing maintenance, safety, and operational readiness of our dealership facilities. Working closely with the CEO, COO, Executive Leadership Team, General Managers, architects, engineers, contractors, OEM partners, and vendors, you will help shape the future of one of the fastest-growing privately held automotive groups in the country.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Management

  • Lead multiple concurrent dealership construction, renovation, and capital improvement projects from concept through completion.
  • Coordinate architects, engineers, OEM representatives, municipalities, consultants, and general contractors.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, budgets, schedules, and project documentation.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, contingency planning, and financial reporting.
  • Review and negotiate change orders while maintaining strict budget discipline.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor quality, safety, schedule adherence, and project progress.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on project milestones, risks, costs, and mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure projects comply with OEM image requirements, building codes, and company standards.

Facilities Management

Lead Principle Automotive's corporate facilities maintenance strategy across all dealership locations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee internal maintenance team members and external service vendors.
  • Develop and manage annual operating and capital maintenance budgets.
  • Coordinate scheduled preventative maintenance programs across all dealership facilities.
  • Ensure facility compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements.
  • Drive Retail Readiness initiatives to maintain exceptional appearance and operating standards.
  • Coordinate emergency repairs while minimizing business interruption.
  • Manage HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing, parking lots, landscaping, building systems, and facility infrastructure.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate maintenance service agreements.
  • Develop standardized maintenance procedures that can scale with the organization's future growth.
  • Track maintenance costs, identify trends, and recommend operational improvements.

Corporate Process Development

As Principle Automotive continues its rapid expansion, this leader will help build the operational infrastructure necessary to support future growth.

Responsibilities include:

  • Analyze existing construction and facilities policies and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop scalable policies, procedures, standards, and best practices that support a growing dealership organization.
  • Create standardized reporting tools, KPI dashboards, and project management processes.
  • Partner with executive leadership to continuously improve organizational efficiency and long-term planning.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of commercial construction or facilities management leadership experience.

  • Experience managing multiple concurrent construction projects.

  • Strong leadership experience supervising employees, contractors, and vendors.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with demonstrated experience in:

  • Budget development

  • Financial forecasting

  • Capital planning

  • Cost analysis

  • Project tracking

  • Reporting dashboards

  • Strong financial and analytical abilities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Outstanding organizational and project management abilities.

  • Ability to travel between dealership locations as needed.

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

  • Ability to successfully pass background and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Automotive dealership construction experience.
  • Multi-site facilities management experience.
  • OEM image program experience.
  • Experience with Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar project management software.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EHS compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting rapidly growing organizations.
