    Description

    Title: Director of Contracts

    Location: Alexandria, VA

    US Citizenship Required: Yes

    Clearance: TS/SCI with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph

    The Director of Contracts provides executive-level leadership for the Contracts Department, guiding contract administration, subcontracts and procurement activities, developing organizational policies, and partnering with senior leadership to support business objectives. This hands-on leadership role oversees a team of contracts professionals while providing expertise on complex U.S. Government, defense, commercial, and agreements.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead and develop Contracts Department personnel, processes, policies, and objectives
    • Provide oversight to program staff on contract inception, implementation, and closeout activities, including preparation of contract briefing materials, required approvals, allowances, funding, procurement, property inventory, and audit file documentation
    • Oversee contract negotiations, preparation, modifications, extensions, and compliance activities
    • Provide guidance on contractual rights, obligations, risks, and execution strategies
    • Support proposals, pricing analysis, audits, certifications, and government contracting requirements
    • Ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS, DCMA, DCAA, data rights, and export control requirements
    • Maintain contract file integrity, reporting tools, and traceability for compliance reviews
    • Hire, mentor, and evaluate contracts team members while managing departmental priorities

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree required, with at least 15 years' experience in a contracts role within the defense industry; a minimum of 5 years' experience must be in a senior contracts leadership or supervisory role
    • Extensive progressive experience in project and contracts management
    • Proposal cost and budget development required
    • Proficient knowledge of FAR/DFARS
    • Experience with Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) audits
    • Strong organizational skills to ensure documentation is filed professionally and accurately for internal and external audits
    • Comprehensive knowledge of US government service-type cost reimbursable, T&M, and fixed price Acquisition and Assistance management
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex contracts clauses
    • The ability to communicate effectively with personnel on all levels of the organization
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate across technical disciplines and non-technical audience required
    • US citizenship required; TS//SCI w/CI Poly clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one
