The Director of Contracts will lead all aspects of government contract administration and compliance, providing strategic guidance throughout the contract lifecycle. This role will partner with leadership, business development, finance, legal, and program management to ensure contractual compliance, minimize risk, and support company growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the administration of federal government contracts from proposal support through contract closeout.
- Review, negotiate, and administer prime contracts and related contractual agreements.
- Serve as the company's subject matter expert on FAR, DFARS, and federal acquisition regulations.
- Provide contractual guidance and risk assessments to executive leadership and program teams.
- Support proposal development, contract negotiations, modifications, and customer communications.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, company policies, and government regulations.
- Support DCAA, DCMA, and other government audits and reviews.
- Develop and improve contract policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Lead and mentor contracts personnel while promoting a culture of accountability and excellence.

Required Experience:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Contracts Management, Finance, Legal Studies, or a related field.
- 710 years of progressive government contracts management experience.
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and federal contracting regulations.
- Experience with a variety of government contract types, including FFP, Cost-Reimbursement, T&M, IDIQ, GWAC, and GSA Schedule contracts.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree.
- CPCM, CFCM, or similar professional certification.
- Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one.
- Experience supporting DoD, NASA, DOE, or other federal agencies.
- Huntsville-area government contracting experience.
- Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint is a plus.
