We are looking for a Director of Contracts for our growing team.
This position is located in Sedro-Woolley, Washington State.
Department Summary:
The Director of Contracts is responsible for establishing, leading, and overseeing the company’s contracts function during a period of significant organizational growth within the aerospace and defense sector. Serving as the principal authority on contractual matters, the Director provides strategic leadership across U.S. Government and commercial contracting activities and reports to the Vice President of Contracts, Subcontracts, and Government Compliance.
The role encompasses comprehensive oversight of proposal review, contract formation, negotiation, administration, and closeout, ensuring disciplined and compliant execution throughout the contract lifecycle. The Director works closely with executive leadership, Business Development, Capture, Program Management, and other functional teams to negotiate complex agreements, shape contracting approaches, manage contractual risk, and ensure adherence to applicable regulatory requirements, including FAR and DFARS.
In addition to leading day‑to‑day contract management activities, the Director is responsible for developing contracting policy, strengthening compliance frameworks, and supporting growth initiatives across both existing and emerging markets. This includes engagement in classified and secure program activities, as well as the opportunity to build and develop a high‑performing contracts organization that supports long‑term business success. The position requires significant interaction with executive leadership and plays a critical role in influencing business strategy and ensuring the company’s contractual posture enables continued expansion.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law, Engineering, or a related field required
Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible Government contracts experience within aerospace, defense, or government contracting industries
Demonstrated expertise in FAR, DFARS, and other federal acquisition regulations
Proven success negotiating complex Government and commercial agreements
Strong experience supporting executive leadership and influencing strategic decisions
Experience collaborating with Business Development and Capture teams on competitive pursuits
Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skill
Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language
Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be U.S. citizens
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Detailed Wage Information
Wage range for this role is between $150K – 220K, plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
