The Global Communications team is the voice of Motorola Solutions, bringing to life the company's rich history in innovation and commitment to help keep communities and businesses safe, productive and thriving. Our customers are everyday heroes - from police officers and firefighters to utility workers and educators - and we proudly tell their stories through thoughtful campaigns that span media, executive thought leadership, financial communications and strategic stakeholder engagement.

Job Description

This position offers a senior communications leader the opportunity to shape, drive and protect Motorola Solutions' global corporate reputation. Serving as a trusted, strategic partner to executive leadership, this individual will lead financial communications, strategic transactions (M&A), media engagement and executive thought leadership programs. This role reports directly to the Sr Director of External Communications.

Scope of Responsibilities

• Strategic Executive Partnership: Serve as a trusted, strategic advisor and business partner to corporate teams including the Office of the Chairman & CEO, Finance, Investor Relations, Strategy, Legal and Marketing.
• Executive Thought Leadership & Platform Building: Develop and execute holistic, end-to-end executive positioning platforms for the CEO and key senior executives. Craft high-profile keynote addresses, published commentary (op-eds/bylines), executive messaging and prepare leaders for top-tier media interviews and major industry forums.
• Financial Communications & Earnings: Lead communications strategy for quarterly earnings releases, shareholder meetings, annual reports and quiet-period communications in close alignment with Investor Relations and Finance.
• M&A & Strategic Transactions: Drive comprehensive media and stakeholder communications for mergers, acquisitions, strategic investments and divestitures, from initial deal announcement through post-merger integration.
• Corporate Media Relations: Build and nurture strategic relationships with top-tier business, financial and technology media to secure high-impact national coverage and position Motorola Solutions as an industry leader and pioneer.
• Crisis & Issues Management: Support key company initiatives including issues management, scenario planning and rapid-response crisis communications to safeguard corporate brand equity.
• Content Creation & Strategic Storytelling: Write, edit and oversee critical corporate assets, including earnings materials, executive briefing material, speeches, press releases, strategic messaging frameworks and executive social media media content .
• Measurement & Insights: Guide media monitoring, reputation tracking and campaign measurement, utilizing data and insights to continually refine future strategy.

Specific Knowledge and Skills

• Executive Presence & Advisory: Proven ability to coach, counsel and influence executive leadership on complex, sensitive and high-visibility corporate topics.
• Financial & M&A Acumen: Strong understanding of public company financial reporting, SEC regulations, capital markets and corporate deal structures.
• Strategic Thought Leadership: Demonstrated track record of conceptualizing and scaling multi-channel executive platforms that raise corporate profile and executive visibility.
• Media Savvy & High-Impact Writing: Outstanding drafting, editing and narrative skills with deep knowledge of top-tier tier-1 business press and digital news platforms.
• Sound Judgment Under Pressure: Excellent critical thinking, crisis response instincts and the ability to make decisive, risk-assessed recommendations independently.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Skilled at leading, collaborating and building alignment across complex matrixed functions under tight timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Investor Relations, English or related disciplines.
• 10+ years of progressive corporate communications experience within a publicly traded company, leading PR agency or financial journalism.
• Demonstrated track record of designing and executing executive thought leadership programs for C-suite leaders.
• Proven experience managing public company financial communications, quarterly earnings and M&A transaction messaging.

Target Base Salary Range: $195,000 - $215,000 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years of progressive corporate communications experience within a publicly traded company, leading PR agency or financial journalism.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
