Creighton University is seeking a collaborative and student-centered leader to serve as the Director of Student Support Services (SSS). The SSS Program is a critical asset within the Division of Student Success and is housed in The Success Center. Provides strategic leadership and oversight for the Student Support Services program, one of four federally funded TRIO programs at Creighton.
The Director is responsible for leading all aspects of the program in accordance with the approved federal grant and supporting the academic success, retention, persistence, and degree completion of eligible students, including first-generation college students, students from low-income backgrounds, and students with disabilities.
The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, program management, collaboration, and student success expertise, along with a demonstrated commitment to supporting students from diverse backgrounds and helping them successfully transition and persist through and graduate from Creighton University.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements
Master's degree required. Doctoral degree preferred.
3+ years of experience at the assistant or director level administering comprehensive support programs.
Demonstrated success in leadership roles in higher education with program development, program and staff management, and monitoring key student success metrics- retention, academic progress, credit completion, and graduation.
Experience with key student populations- specifically first-generation students, students with disabilities and students from low-income backgrounds.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience making effective public presentations to a variety of audiences.
Experience is developing relationships with faculty, staff, and community constituents
Understanding of departmental budgets and general accounting principles.
Experience gathering relevant data for promoting program, grant writing and reporting institutional and grant information
