Position Summary
North Lake School is seeking a visionary, collaborative, and student-centered educational leader to serve as our Director of Curriculum and Instruction. This unique dual-role requires a dynamic professional who will oversee the alignment, development, and implementation of our school-wide curriculum while actively leveraging their expertise as a licensed Reading Specialist to enhance our literacy programs.
The ideal candidate will foster a culture of academic excellence, data-driven instruction, and continuous professional growth among our instructional staff.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum & Instructional Leadership
Curriculum Mapping: Lead the review, design, evaluation, and mapping of all K-8 academic curricula to ensure alignment with state standards and best practices.
Instructional Coaching: Provide targeted coaching, mentorship, and feedback to teaching staff to improve classroom instruction and student engagement.
Professional Development: Plan, coordinate, and deliver high-quality professional development aligned with school goals and staff needs.
Data-Driven Instruction: Oversee school-wide assessment data systems, helping teachers analyze student performance data to differentiate instruction and close achievement gaps.
Literacy & Reading Specialist Oversight
Literacy Framework: Serve as the district authority on literacy instruction, ensuring Act 20 compliance
Intervention Framework: Partner with classroom teachers and interventionists to design, monitor, and refine the multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) for all core classes.
Education: Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, or a closely related field.
Skills: Solid training in the Science of Reading
