Director of Platform Data Analytics
Location: Scottsdale, AZ (100% On-site, 5 days a week)
Position Summary
The Director of Platform Data Analytics will build, lead, and scale an internal data and analytics function. This individual will oversee a multidisciplinary team of Data Managers and BI Developers, driving operational excellence and delivering high-impact analytics initiatives across the organization.

This role is responsible for helping stakeholders leverage data-driven insights to support strategic planning, operational optimization, market analysis, geographic growth opportunities, workforce planning, and executive decision-making. The position is highly visible and strategic, bridging analytics leadership, data infrastructure, governance, and business enablement.

The Director will establish the vision for how data is prioritized, governed, and leveraged across a matrixed organization. This leader will own analytics intake and prioritization processes, ensuring initiatives align with organizational objectives and enterprise priorities. Success in this role is defined by trusted data, disciplined execution, scalable analytics operations, and measurable business impact.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop analytics teams within a matrixed organizational structure
Develop and execute a strategic vision for the analytics function aligned with company objectives
Design, implement, and optimize analytics intake and prioritization processes
Ensure analytics resources are allocated toward the highest-impact initiatives
Oversee data governance, system integration, data quality, privacy, security, and compliance standards
Lead the implementation of enterprise-wide governance frameworks and analytics best practices
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of analytics initiatives and reporting outputs
Drive innovation through adoption of advanced analytics, automation, AI/ML, and emerging technologies
Mentor and develop leaders and team members while fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented culture
Manage departmental budgeting and resource planning to maximize efficiency and ROI
Balance innovation with operational scalability and execution discipline
Partner with executive leadership to align analytics strategy with broader business goals
Establish KPIs and performance metrics to evaluate analytics effectiveness and business impact
Oversee development of dashboards, forecasting tools, and predictive models
Collaborate with technology and infrastructure teams to ensure scalable analytics support

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience leading enterprise analytics organizations with strategic and operational oversight
Experience developing analytics intake, governance, and prioritization frameworks
Ability to review, interpret, and coach teams on analytical outputs and deliverables
Expertise with enterprise analytics and visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker
Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, R, or related analytics technologies
Strong ability to translate analytical insights into business recommendations
Experience managing cross-functional initiatives and complex analytics projects
Deep understanding of data governance, compliance, security, and privacy best practices
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong operational and financial business acumen
Experience with predictive analytics, machine learning, and AI applications
Familiarity with scenario planning, forecasting, and analytical modeling
Ability to balance innovation with operational execution and scalability

Education & Experience

Bachelors degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Administration, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred
5+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or related disciplines
5+ years of leadership experience managing analytics or data teams
Proven track record leading enterprise-scale analytics initiatives in mid-to-large organizations
