Position Summary
The primary purpose of the Director of Development for the Asante Foundation is to raise significant levels of philanthropic support for Asante through the Asante Foundation in support of assigned programs and projects. The Director of Development reports directly to the Chief Philanthropy Officer and is responsible for developing and moving donor relationships that lead to philanthropic support of Asante. This position provides leadership to the formulation of the Foundation's goals and objectives, the developmental planning processes, strategic plan, and annual budget, has specific responsibility for oversight and management of the Foundation's top donors and leadership volunteers, and the implementation of fundraising campaigns. Develops and promotes public interest, understanding, and goodwill for the Foundation’s fundraising programs within the entities of the Asante Health System, the local community, and with donors, both locally and regionally.
Position Qualifications
Required
- 8 years progressive experience, including raising revenues in excess of one million dollars annually, developing, managing, and implementing multimillion dollar strategic plans/business plans, foundation, development or health program management.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License with proof of a safe driving record for the past ten years and proof of auto insurance is required. Must obtain Oregon Driver's License within 30 days of moving to Oregon (if applicable).

- Possess sound judgement, a strong work ethic, a deep commitment to excellence, high professional standards, and integrity.
- Proven knowledge of all aspects of development, including major gifts, planned gifts, campaigns, annual giving, direct marketing, and volunteer management.
- Must be proficient in many computer programs, including office suite applications and development-specific applications.
- Experience in health care/education is strongly preferred.

- Develop and communicate the vision and strategic initiatives that are essential to achieve the foundations’ goals.
- Demonstrate effective leadership, facilitating the successful participation of staff, volunteers, and donors in philanthropy efforts.
- Build internal and external relationships to foster support, enthusiasm, and participation in Asante’s strategic initiatives.
- Meet all productivity and achievement goals identified and assigned in annual and long-term foundation plans.
- Implement successful fundraising plans and meet financial performance goals established in the foundations’ strategic plans.
