SUMMARY:Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County is seeking a strategic and relationship-driven Director of Development to lead our fundraising efforts with a clear focus on two priorities: cultivating new donor and partner relationships and deepening our stewardship of existing supporters to drive retention and sustained growth. As a member of the Management Leadership Team, this role will shape and execute the vision for how we grow philanthropic support - from first introduction through long-term partnership - in service of our mission to build homes, communities, and hope. ESSWhat You'll DoGrowing New SupportIdentify, research, and cultivate new prospects across corporate, faith community, foundation, civic, and individual giving channelsBuild a strong pipeline of new partners and major donors, moving prospects intentionally from first engagement to committed givingExpand corporate in-kind gift partnerships to support our construction effortsRepresent Habitat Greenville publicly, speaking to community groups and organizations to grow visibility and new giving relationshipsDemonstrate the ability to respond appropriately and ensure a high degree of responsiveness to all donors without regard to their giving levelStrengthening Existing RelationshipsMaintain a donor-centric approach that prioritizes retention and year-over-year growth in givingEnsure timely, meaningful recognition and follow-up for all partners and donorsLead partnership and major donor programs designed to deepen commitment and maximize long-term givingKeep donor data accurate and up to date to support personalized, consistent stewardshipOversee gift entry and acknowledgment processes, either performing these tasks directly or managing the staff member responsible for themIncorporate planned giving into the organization's overall fundraising strategyStrategy & LeadershipCollaborate with the CEO, leadership team, staff, and Board to build annual and long-term development plans aligned with our strategic goalsLead, train, and support development staff, board members, and volunteers in fundraising effortsManage a team of development staff, inclusive of the events and grants functionsRecommend policies and practices that support sustainable organizational growthProvide accurate development reporting and contribute financial data to the annual budget processLead the planning, execution, and management of development-related events, including special and promotional events.Partner closely with staff across all departments to align fundraising efforts with organizational priorities and strategic initiativesSet and maintain a culture of personal professional development and keep organization informed as to trends and new developmentsDemonstrated ability to identify opportunities, solve problems proactively, and lead by exampleAbility to lead a capital campaign, overseeing strategy and execution, when necessary What You BringBachelor's degree, or 3–5 years of related experience/training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, nonprofit fundraising experience, with major gifts experience preferredDemonstrated success achieving major gift and fundraising revenue goals through both new donor acquisition and existing donor retentionStrong written, oral, and presentation communication skillsExperience using and maintaining donor database softwareAbility to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt within a growing organizationA collaborative, team-oriented approach and a proactive, solutions-focused mindsetProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteProven ability to be adaptable and flexible in leadership and execution of role Demonstrated ability to take initiative to identify and act on problems and lead by example Fundraising or philanthropy certification preferred, not required. Habitat for Humanity is an equal opportunity employer.
