Kids Center for Pediatric Therapies provides transformative care to children inspiring them and their families to build confidence, encourage joy, and live with hope for the future.The Kids Center is a multi-disciplinary non-profit outpatient therapy center for children up to 21 years of age who experience developmental disabilities or delays. More than 1,000 kids receive care annually at Kids Center with over 700 visits per week. Kids Center has a team of 60 including direct service providers, administration, marketing/development, and leadership.THE OPPORTUNITYKids Center for Pediatric Therapies is entering an exciting phase of growth with plans to expand into a new facility or transform its current space. With a comprehensive campaign underway, the timing is right for a Director of Development to join the team and make a lasting impact.This role is ideal for a relationship-focused fundraiser who brings both strategic vision and execution. The successful candidate will be a development leader with broad-based experience across major gifts, campaign planning, and donor pipeline development.Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Development & Marketing, the Director of Development will partner closely with senior leadership, board members, and volunteers to drive campaign success, strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, and position Kids Center for sustained philanthropic growth. This is a highly visible and impactful position.This role will divide time between development initiatives with approximately 85% of time spent on essential job duties and 15% on administrative duties. The position has a hybrid workplace approach with some time devoted to being in the office at both campuses and other time working from home or in a donor meeting capacity.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIESStrategic Leadership and PlanningActively work with the Senior VP Development & Marketing, senior staff, and board to develop and implement comprehensive campaign strategy for individual/family and corporate support including eventsCollaborate closely and work in partnership with the Senior Vice President of Development & Marketing and the President to establish fundraising objectivesDonor Cultivation and StewardshipManage a portfolio of prospects and donors in active cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship stages with a focus on long-term relationship developmentConduct consistent donor engagement through meaningful contacts, including personal visits to advance relationships and move prospects through the pipelineIdentify, qualify, and solicit prospects for major and planned gifts, including the development and presentation of proposalsDevelop and implement comprehensive donor cultivation, communication, and stewardship strategies to deepen engagement and ensure ongoing supportComplete at least 300 meaningful, recorded contacts per year with an average of 10–15 personal donor visits per monthProgram Management and Campaign ExecutionCreate and deliver a minimum of 20 proposals annually; delivered orally and in writing to prospects and existing donors in coordination with the Development OfficeCreate open communications with therapists and team members to identify fundable needs within Kids CenterCoordinate visits of prospects and donors to the two Kids Center campusesData Analysis and ReportingMaintain accurate donor activity records in Raiser's Edge and complete related administrative tasks to support organizational goalsCreate reports as required by the Senior Vice President of Development & Marketing and President that accurately reflect caseload activity and performanceTeam Leadership and CollaborationEnsure accurate and compliant gift processing including adherence to organizational policies, donor intent, and applicable regulationsOversee the integrity and timeliness of donor acknowledgments, recognition, and stewardship communicationsPartner with Development operations staff to maintain high standards for data entry, reporting, and gift documentationMonitor and support consistent use of CRM systems to ensure completeness, accuracy, and audit readinessEnsure adherence to HIPAA and patient privacy regulations within fundraising activities, including the ethical use of grateful patient and grateful family informationCommunity and Institutional EngagementHave a demonstrated passion for kids and families seeking services at Kids CenterServe as an Ambassador for Kids Center at community events, including speaking engagementsCANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONSHigh energy and passion for the Kids Center mission is essentialBachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred5+ years of fundraising experienceProven ability to cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts at the five and six figure rangeProven ability to cultivate, solicit, and steward planned giftsTangible donor cultivation experience with existing donor relationships in healthcare, human services, social services and/or higher educationExperience implementing an annual strategic development planProven success with developing and securing community partners and sponsorshipsExcellent written and oral communication skillsAccustomed to goal setting and achievementProficiency in MS Office suite as well as Raiser's Edge or similar CRMWillingness to work a flexible schedule at times to accommodate demands of the position including weekend and evening hours.
