Our client is a dedicated nonprofit organization providing vital support programs for cancer patients and caregivers in Westchester County, at no cost to the patient. They are hiring a highly strategic and dynamic Director of Development to lead its fundraising initiatives and drive organizational growth. In this newly created position, the successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to bring both vision and skillful execution to their programs, designing and executing measurable, achievable plans while personally building relationships and securing philanthropic support.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an annual fundraising plan that increases revenue from existing sources while identifying and cultivating new streams of income
- Partner with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to steward and deepen relationships with current donors
- Identify, cultivate, and secure new major gifts from individuals, corporations and philanthropic foundations
- Support grant writing, orchestrate special events, and fundraising campaigns in collaboration with the Executive Director
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and Director of Communication & Technology to strengthen donor communications, messaging, and outreach
Requirements:
- Proven experience in all aspects of successful fundraising including:
- Prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop strategy and manage day-to-day fundraising operations.
- Proficiency in the tools of development including CRM and fundraising software, social media, traditional communications and personal contact.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and follow.
- Confident public speaker and ambassador for the organization
- Broader experience in brand building/marketing a plus.
- Strategic thinker with an analytical approach to planning and problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to the mission.
- Bachelors degree required
