Bachelor's degree plus six (6) years of demonstrated leadership experience in healthcare administration, clinical education, or academic program management, with a background in geriatric or special needs populations, or
Master's degree in Nursing, Social Work, Doctor of Nursing Practice, or related field = plus four (4) years of demonstrated leadership experience in healthcare administration, clinical education, or academic program management, with a background in geriatric or special needs populations required.
Acceptable Licensure:
Nurse Practitioner, Adult/Gerio Nurse Practitioner, Geriatric Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Licensed Medical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Active, unencumbered Arkansas clinical licensure matching the advanced degree.
Fully credentialed and qualified to legally bill Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance for clinical counseling, education, or navigation services.
Geriatrics with emphasis in dementia care and caregiving
Preferred Experience:
PhD, DNP.
10 years clinical and/or educational setting, including 5 years in a leadership role.
Geriatric Nurse Practitioner.
Dementia Care Specialist.
Responsibilities:
Executes and manages the education program component of the Centers (Northeast and Delta), developing and implementing educational pathways in strict accordance with UAMS guidelines and Centers on Aging (COA) leadership groups.
Provides clinical education, guidance, and specialized navigation/coaching directly to patient families, navigating complex healthcare access systems and support resources for the older adult throughout life transitions.
Utilizes advanced clinical credentials and licensure to perform billable educational and navigation services, driving regional clinical revenue and sustainability.
Coordinates and collaborates directly with other Centers on Aging staff statewide in the shared development, implementation, and rigorous evaluation of core educational tracks.
Maintains an active role in lecturing, teaching, and training all regional target groups, ensuring high-quality instructional delivery.
Leads regional training-of-trainers initiatives to drastically increase the educational and caregiving capacity of the Center on Aging’s assigned county region (20 Counties).
Works dynamically with regional and statewide leadership teams to develop the Center's long-range strategic plan, updating targets as operational needs evolve.
Assists the Director in the formulation and strategic development of the operational budget, assuming primary responsibility for daily budgetary oversight and expenditure tracking.
Prepares comprehensive administrative reports—including formal annual reports—and oversees all regional data management and performance metrics input.
Coordinates and leads cross-functional operations of the Centers as required, including localized marketing campaigns, institutional policy adherence, clinical liaison networks, and collaborative community relationships.
Represents the mission, clinical goals, and localized outcomes of the Centers by actively participating in staff meetings, foundation events, advisory committee sessions, and statewide UAMS COA executive meetings.
Researches, explores, and maps potential state, federal, and private grant funding sources to expand regional educational and program services.
Drafts, assembles, and applies for competitive grants, seeking and incorporating external technical assistance when necessary to maximize proposal success.
Identifies and develops structural leveraging opportunities, corporate partnerships, and community-sponsored funding streams to secure long-term program growth.
Provides rigorous leadership in evaluating the quality of all regional education programs, clinical geriatric educational/navigational services, and instructional staff performance.
Serves as an expert clinical and educational resource to internal staff and community stakeholders, providing specialized consultation, referral frameworks, and advanced training program architectures.
Direct and oversee master schedules for all regional education programs, public health workshops, and specialized training sessions to ensure efficient resource utilization.
Implements operational strategies and onboarding procedures to track student and participant metrics from initial contact through course completion.
Perform other duties as assigned.
