    Primary Purpose:

    To provide districtwide leadership and oversight for all instructional and operational technology

    systems by planning, implementing, securing, and maintaining educational technology, information

    systems, network infrastructure, and enterprise technology services to support teaching, learning,

    administration, and district operations in compliance with state and federal requirements.

    Qualifications:

    Education/Certification:

    ? Bachelor's degree in educational technology, information systems, computer science, or

    related field

    ? Master's degree in an education- or technology-related field

    ? Valid Texas teaching certificate

    ? Industry certifications in networking, systems administration, or cybersecurity (preferred)

    Special Knowledge/Skills:

    ? Knowledge of instructional technology integration and digital learning environments

    ? Knowledge of enterprise-level information systems, servers, virtualization, and mainframe

    systems

    ? Knowledge of network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, wireless systems, and

    telecommunications

    ? Knowledge of cybersecurity, data privacy, disaster recovery, and FERPA compliance

    ? Ability to manage large-scale technology upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle planning

    ? Ability to analyze and interpret instructional, operational, and technology performance data

    ? Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

    Experience:

    ? Minimum of 3 years experience in educational technology or information systems leadership

    ? Minimum of 3 years experience managing network infrastructure, servers, or enterprise

    systems

    ? Minimum of 3 years experience in a campus or district administrative role (preferred)

    ? Experience supervising technical staff and managing technology budgets

    Major Responsibilities and Duties:

    Districtwide Technology Leadership

    1. Provide leadership and strategic direction for all district technology systems, including

    instructional technology, administrative systems, network infrastructure, and enterprise

    platforms.

    1. Develop and implement a district technology plan aligned with instructional goals,

    operational needs, and long-term sustainability.

    1. Serve as the primary advisor to the Superintendent and district leadership on all technology-

    related matters.

    Instructional Technology & Digital Learning

    1. Oversee the integration of instructional technology into curriculum and instruction to

    enhance student engagement, achievement, and teacher effectiveness.

    1. Collaborate with curriculum and instruction leaders to support blended learning, online

    learning, and digital instructional resources.

    1. Evaluate, recommend, and manage the adoption of instructional software, hardware, and

    classroom technology.

    1. Plan, coordinate, and deliver professional development for teachers and administrators

    related to instructional technology and digital tools.

    1. Lead the integration of instructional technology, including artificial intelligence tools, to

    enhance teaching, learning, and personalized student support across all grade levels.

    Information Systems, Networking & Infrastructure

    1. Oversee all district information systems, including student information systems (SIS),

    financial systems, HR systems, and other enterprise platforms.

    1. Direct the management, maintenance, and upgrading of district servers, data centers, cloud

    services, and mainframe systems to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.

    1. Oversee the design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of districtwide network

    infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, wireless networks, internet connectivity, and

    telecommunications systems.

    1. Plan and manage system upgrades, hardware refresh cycles, software updates, and

    technology lifecycle replacements.

    1. Ensure high availability of systems through proactive monitoring, redundancy, backup, and

    disaster recovery planning.

    Data Management, Security & Compliance

    1. Ensure data integrity, security, and confidentiality across all district technology systems in

    compliance with FERPA, state, and federal regulations.

    1. Develop, implement, and enforce district technology policies, procedures, and acceptable use

    guidelines.

    1. Oversee cybersecurity practices, including access controls, vulnerability management,

    incident response, and staff training.

    1. Collaborate with assessment and accountability departments to support testing platforms,

    data reporting, and state submissions.

    Budget, Purchasing & Resource Management

    1. Participate in the development, preparation, and management of the district technology

    budget.

    1. Oversee purchasing, inventory control, and asset management for all technology equipment,

    software, and network resources.

    1. Evaluate vendor contracts, service agreements, and technology partnerships to ensure cost-

    effectiveness and performance.

    1. Pursue grants and alternative funding sources to support district technology initiatives.

    Other

    1. Compile, maintain, and securely store all required technology documentation, reports,

    inventories, and compliance records.

    1. Comply with district policies and procedures, federal and state regulations, and State Board

    of Education rules.

    1. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

    2. Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    ? Supervise all educational technology, information systems, and network/infrastructure

    personnel.

    ? Oversee implementation, support, and maintenance of all district technology systems and

    services.

    ? Monitor training, certification, and professional development requirements for technology

    staff.

    ? Ensure timely completion of technology-related reports, audits, and compliance

    documentation.

    Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer, peripherals,

    servers, networking equipment, and instructional technology devices
