Role Description The Director of Engineering and Operations is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX, responsible for leading and integrating engineering and manufacturing operations across the organization. This role oversees engineering design, process optimization, and production planning to ensure efficient use of equipment, consistent product quality, and on-time delivery. The director manages engineering and operations teams, sets performance goals, and implements continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, productivity, and cost control. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating cross-functional projects, aligning engineering priorities with customer requirements, monitoring key operational metrics, and addressing technical challenges on the shop floor. The role also involves collaborating with senior leadership on strategic planning, capacity expansion, and technology investments that support long-term growth.

Qualifications

  • Strong Operations Management experience, including production planning, process improvement, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Proven Engineering Management background leading design, process engineering, and technical problem-solving in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated Program Management skills in overseeing complex, multi-phase initiatives that span engineering and operations.
  • Project Management and Project Engineering experience in planning, executing, and delivering technical projects on time and within budget.
  • Experience in rubber molding, CNC machining, or related industrial manufacturing sectors is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to lead diverse teams, communicate clearly across all levels of the organization, and drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field; an advanced degree or relevant professional certifications are a plus.
