    Description

    Director of Engineering

    We are seeking a skilled Director of Engineering to join our hotel team at the Crowne Plaza Union Station Downtown Indianapolis. The Director of Engineering will be responsible for the safety and comfort of hotel guests and team members by ensuring proper functioning of all equipment and systems within the hotel, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in hotel maintenance and possess a strong understanding of building systems and equipment. Responsibilities:
    • Perform routine maintenance on all hotel equipment and systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
    • Respond to guest requests for maintenance assistance in a timely and professional manner.
    • Perform repairs and troubleshoot issues with equipment and systems as needed.
    • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance performed and equipment serviced.
    • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
    • Assist with the installation of new equipment and systems as needed.
    • Monitor budget and control expenses with a focus on energy management, preventive maintenance, and capital planning.
    • Manage day-to-day staffing requirements, plan and assign work and establish performance and development goals for team members.
    • Educate and train all team members in compliance with national and local laws and safety regulations. Ensure staff is properly trained and has the tools and equipment to carry out job duties.
    • Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve team member performance.
    • Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests and team members in compliance with regulatory policies and procedures.
    • Maintain relations with outside contacts including guests, regulatory agencies and others as needed.
    • Understand and respond to customers' needs and ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.
    • Carry out preventive maintenance program to ensure facility is maintained and in service for our guests.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
    Requirements:
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel maintenance
    • Strong understanding of building systems and equipment
    • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
    • Excellent problem-solving skills
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
