POSITION: Director of Enterprise Applications REPORTS TO: Chief Information Officer ACHE is a hybrid work environment, requiring 2 days per week in our Chicago office and as such, only Chicago area based candidates will be considered. PURPOSE The purpose of this job is to serve our Members, Customers and Co-workers. SUMMARY The Director of Enterprise Applications provides operational oversight for the organization’s core business software ecosystem. This role is responsible for collaborating with others on the design, deployment, integration, and continuous improvement of enterprise platforms, including our AMS built on Salesforce. The Director has deep technical knowledge of Salesforce and bridges the gap between our enterprise applications and business units, driving digital transformation initiatives that improve operational efficiency. JOB FUNCTIONS - Application & Integrations Management 60% of Time
- Partner with executive stakeholders (CIO, VP-level business sponsors) to shape the Salesforce roadmap, prioritize investments, and communicate technical trade-offs in business terms.
- Implement the enterprise Salesforce architecture strategy across Sales, Service, Commerce, Tableau, MuleSoft and adjacent platform capabilities, ensuring alignment with overall business and technology strategy.
- Serve as the top-level technical escalation point and design authority across all concurrent Salesforce initiatives, resolving cross-project architecture conflicts.
- Lead the integrations , multi-cloud solutions, including integrations with ERP, marketing automation, LMS, data warehouses, and other enterprise systems.
- Own technical risk management for the Salesforce platform, including release management, sandbox strategy, technical debt remediation, and org health monitoring.
- Anticipate Salesforce product roadmap changes (releases, AI/Agentforce capabilities, platform licensing) and advise leadership on their business impact.
- Team & Vendor Management 20% of Time
- Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing team.
- Manage relationships, SLAs, and third-party software vendors.
- Assist with departmental capital and operational expense budgets for enterprise applications.
- Security, Compliance, & Risk 20% of Time
- Partner with the Infrastructure and Security team to ensure all applications comply with data security standards.
- Ensure disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity plans for critical applications.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 4+ years in a leadership role managing enterprise application teams.
- 5+ years of progressive Salesforce experience, including at least 2-3 years in a Solution Architect or Lead Technical Architect capacity.
- Proven experience architecting solutions across multiple Salesforce clouds (Sales, Service and MuleSoft required; experience with additional clouds such as Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Commerce Cloud, Tableau strongly preferred).
- Deep expertise in Salesforce data modeling, security architecture (profiles, permission sets, sharing rules), and platform limits/governance.
- Strong hands-on background in Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow, and integration technologies (REST/SOAP APIs, middleware such as MuleSoft).
- Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-scale, multi-team Salesforce programs from design through go-live.
- Track record of advising executive stakeholders and translating business requirements into scalable technical architecture.
- Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or equivalent combination of certifications (e.g., Application Architect and System Architect certification tracks) required or in progress.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to move fluidly between boardroom strategy discussions and detailed technical design sessions.

COMPENSATION This is an exempt/salaried role, paid on a bi-weekly basis. We anticipate filling this position in a salary range of $130,000 - $165,000 annually. This salary range represents ACHE’s good faith estimate of the possible compensation offer for this role at the time of posting. The compensation offered will take the following into consideration: education, relevant experience, certifications, organizational budget, and market estimates for the role.
