Job Title: Director of Estimating and Preconstruction Location: San Francisco, CA Company: The Boldt Company – Western Operations Anticipated Salary Range: $208,000.00 - $283,000.00

Join Boldt as a Director of Estimating and Preconstruction and step into a highly visible leadership role that shapes how complex, high impact projects come to life across the enterprise. In this position, you will drive alignment between operations, project management, and estimating teams while partnering closely with corporate leadership to elevate standards, processes, and consistency across the organization. You will lead front end strategy on major pursuits, guiding projects from early concept through subcontractor buyout, and playing a critical role in delivering predictable outcomes and strong financial performance. This is an opportunity to influence how Boldt approaches work at scale while engaging directly with clients, partners, and internal leaders to bring innovative, value driven solutions to every project.

You will champion Target Value Design, model based estimating, and design to budget strategies that create meaningful impact for clients while supporting Boldt’s commitment to continuous improvement. The anticipated salary range for this position is $208,000.00–$283,000.00 annually. This information reflects the anticipated base salary for this position based on current market data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual’s skills, experiences, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Four-year architecture, engineering, construction management or related degree required.
Minimum of 10 years of construction experience working as an estimator and / or preconstruction professional. Knowledge of estimating processes, material and building system costs, labor productivity, and conceptual project construction requirements required.At least five years of leadership experience required.
Experience in Guarantee Maximum Price (GMP) as well as Lump Sum (Hard) Bid type of projects required.
Understanding and proficiency of construction coding in CSI, Master Format and Uniformat required.
A strong understanding of excel spreadsheets, database-based software (WinEst), take-off software (On-Screen take-off) scheduling software (Microsoft Schedule, Primavera) is required.
Intermediate experience in Microsoft O365 required.
A valid driver’s license may be required. Individuals in this role may be subject to an annual Motor Vehicle Records check. The outcome of any MVR checks conducted may negatively impact the persons’ ability to participate in any vehicle program provided by the company, including but not limited to the ability to drive a personal vehicle on behalf of The Boldt Company or rent a vehicle through for business travel purposes.
Nice to Have
Experience developing business in healthcare or other highly regulated markets.
Familiarity with healthcare systems and regulatory environments such as HCAI.
