Northwood Club is amid an $85 Million Dollar reimaging of its' Clubhouse. The new Clubhouse is set to open in November 2027. Along with this new state-of-the-art amenity, the Club features a Health and Fitness Building, Tennis facility, and Halfway house, and a recently renovated Grounds Maintenance buildings.

Position Summary

Northwood Club is seeking a hands-on, service-minded Director of Facilities to lead all aspects of facility operations, preventative maintenance, safety compliance, and capital planning across the Club's buildings and infrastructure. This position reports to the Assistant General Manager.

What Success Looks Like

  • A predictable and proactive preventative maintenance program is in place.
  • Strong, collaborative relationships with staff, leadership, and vendors.
  • Reduced emergency repairs through effective scheduling and oversight.
  • Capital projects delivered on time and within budget.
  • Facilities remain clean, safe, and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and evaluate the building maintenance team.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and develop department leadership and staff.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.

Maintenance & Operations

  • Oversee preventative maintenance for all buildings, systems, and equipment. •
  • Maintain and monitor fire, HVAC, lighting, electrical, plumbing, data, IT, and related systems.
  • Conduct daily walk-throughs and weekly inspections with leadership.
  • Ensure cleanliness, safety, and operational reliability.

Project & Vendor Management

  • Serve as project manager for all repairs, renovations, and improvements.
  • Procure bids, manage contracts, and coordinate in-house upgrades.
  • Manage purchasing for equipment, materials, and maintenance supplies.

Planning & Compliance

  • Prepare and manage the annual maintenance budget and capital planning.
  • Maintain five-year preventative maintenance and capital improvement plans.
  • Work with the Leadership Team to meet all safety, health, and fire requirements and renew permits.

Core Competencies

  • Mechanical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration systems.
  • Strong organizational and multi-discipline project management skills.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and effective in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance.

Education & Credentials

  • Two-year degree in a related engineering field preferred.
  • 6-8 years of progressive engineering or facilities experience preferred.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Hospitality or private club experience is a plus.
  • HVAC, Electrical, or Swimming Pool certifications preferred.
  • CFM or FMP certifications are a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and maintenance software.
