Director of Finance Role:
Are you a hands on finance leader who loves building strong teams and improving operational performance? We’re seeking a Director of Finance to own day to day accounting operations, drive financial strategy, and partner closely with executive and operations leadership across a multi unit retail environment.
You will lead financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, payroll oversight, and cash management while championing process improvements that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and profitability.
Lead all finance and accounting activities: reporting, budgeting, forecasting, payroll oversight, and core operational accounting.
Provide direction and coaching to the Controller and accounting leadership team to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial results.
Partner with senior leaders to improve margins, reduce operating costs, and optimize labor spend across the business.
Maintain and strengthen internal controls and standardized financial processes for all locations.
Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital, and liquidity to support ongoing operations and growth initiatives.
Support FP&A, including long range planning, financial models, scenario analysis, and KPI development and monitoring.
Contribute to contract review, vendor negotiations, and other key commercial decisions with clear financial insight.
Create and present concise, executive level financial reports and recommendations to guide strategic decisions.
Lead continuous improvement efforts within finance and accounting, leveraging technology and better processes.
Stay deeply involved in core accounting areas: general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, inventory, fixed assets, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Step into operational accounting functions when needed during transitions, peak periods, system changes, or rapid growth.
Coordinate audit activities, support tax planning, and manage relationships with external CPA firms.
Provide financial support for acquisitions, capital projects, and long term expansion plans.
Ensure adherence to company policies, financial controls, and all relevant regulations.
Participate in leadership development initiatives with a path toward future senior level financial roles.

Director of Finance Background Profile:
Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field required.
MBA or CPA strongly preferred (or equivalent advanced credentials).
5–10+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience.
Background in retail, distribution, or other multi unit operations is highly preferred.
Deep knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal control frameworks.
Proven track record leading and developing high performing finance and accounting teams.
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with a data driven approach to decision making.
Excellent communication, organization, and project management abilities.
High proficiency with modern financial systems and technology tools.
Strategic finance leader who is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves in the details.
