Director of Finance

Remote (US); greater NYC region preferred.

You'll own our financial machinery - and the analysis that shapes what we build next. This is a player, not a coach: you'll own the close, AP/AR, and payments, and lead budgeting and FP&A. There's no team under you and won't be for a while - owning it all yourself is exactly where you want to be. We need to understand our partner economics: cost-to-serve, investments, and revenue. You will define the methodology, build the model, and explain what it means. You'll report to the COO and work closely with the CEO.

What You'll Do

Partner-level economics: Own cost-to-serve, investment, and revenue models to inform deal strategy

Financial operations: End-to-end month-end close, AP/AR and payments, and treasury management - today that's hands-on; you'll help us decide what to outsource vs. keep in-house, and manage those vendors.

FP&A & Compliance: Full ownership of budget, forecast, and runway; manage vendor stack (CPA/tax) to ensure audit-readiness

Revenue/Licensing: Handle full-cycle invoicing, rev-share/royalty calculations, and reporting

What You Need

Experience: 8+ years in finance/accounting (public/startup/FP&A), including Seed-to-Series A stage

Startup operator: You've owned end-to-end monthly closes, thrive without a playbook, and you're comfortable doing the work hands-on and deciding what to outsource, then managing those vendors

Technical & Analytical: Strong GAAP knowledge; you build models, explain strategy, and know when to leverage specialists

Domain expertise: Background in media, gaming, or licensing ideal. Experience with complex revenue structures (royalties, rev-share, usage-based or similar) required.

Details: CPA preferred; organized and detail-oriented

What We Offer

Salary Range: $140,000 - $170,000 (depending on experience / location) and Equity
