A bit about us:We are a rapidly growing industrial services organization supporting commercial and industrial customers through technical, project-based, maintenance, and workforce solutions. Over the last several years, the business has experienced significant expansion, growing from approximately $30M to $100M in revenue while continuing to invest in its people, infrastructure, and long-term capabilities.
The organization recently entered an important new chapter by becoming employee-owned. With that transition, continued growth, and a major ERP implementation ahead, leadership is intentionally strengthening the finance function to support a much larger and more sophisticated business.
This is an entrepreneurial, hands-on environment. The organization has grown quickly, and the opportunity now is to build the financial planning, analysis, forecasting, reporting, and decision-support infrastructure needed for its next stage.
Why join us?- Join an organization that has grown from approximately $30M to $100M in just three years.
- Enter at a pivotal point following the company's transition to an employee-owned structure.
- Work directly with executive leadership and have meaningful visibility into company-wide decisions.
- Build and strengthen FP&A, forecasting, EBITDA analysis, financial modeling, and strategic reporting rather than simply maintaining an established process.
- Help mentor and support an existing Controller and finance organization while creating more scalable processes.
- Play a key role during an upcoming ERP implementation and finance transformation.
- Operate with significant autonomy and the ability to influence how the finance organization evolves.
- Step into a role designed around impact: leadership wants this person to build systems, processes, and capabilities that make the organization increasingly self-sufficient over the next 3–5 years.
Job DetailsWe are seeking a Director of Finance to join our leadership team during a significant period of growth and transformation.
This is not a traditional Controller position focused primarily on historical accounting. We need someone who can look forward—developing the financial analysis, forecasting, planning, and business insights leadership needs to make better decisions as the company scales.
The Director of Finance will partner closely with executive finance leadership and the Controller, serving as a strategic resource while remaining willing to get into the details when needed.
The business has grown rapidly, and that growth has created an opportunity to add greater structure and sophistication to financial planning and decision support. This person will help move the organization from a reactive environment toward a more proactive, scalable finance function.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and strengthen the company's FP&A capabilities.
- Build financial forecasts, budgets, operating models, and long-range planning processes.
- Provide meaningful analysis around revenue, profitability, EBITDA, cash flow, operational performance, and business trends.
- Translate financial information into actionable recommendations for executive leadership.
- Partner with operational leaders to understand performance drivers and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop management reporting, KPIs, dashboards, and financial tools that give leadership better visibility into the business.
- Support the organization's transition into an employee-owned environment and the additional financial discipline that comes with it.
- Partner with the Controller and existing accounting team to improve processes, reporting, and financial visibility.
- Serve as a mentor and strategic resource to the Controller, helping reduce the reactive demands currently placed on the accounting organization.
- Help establish clearer roles, processes, controls, and rhythms across the finance function.
- Participate in the upcoming ERP implementation and help ensure the new platform supports financial reporting, forecasting, analysis, and decision-making.
- Evaluate existing finance processes and identify opportunities for automation and scalability.
- Work directly with senior leadership on strategic initiatives and business planning.
- Build a finance infrastructure capable of supporting continued company growth.
- Develop people and processes so the organization becomes increasingly self-sufficient over time.
What We're Looking For:
- Progressive finance leadership experience within a growing organization.
- Strong FP&A background with hands-on experience building forecasts, budgets, financial models, and management reporting.
- Strong understanding of EBITDA and the operational drivers behind financial performance.
- Ability to operate strategically while still being willing to dig into the details.
- Experience partnering directly with CEOs, Presidents, CFOs, Controllers, and operational leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to build or improve finance processes in an organization experiencing growth or transformation.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to turn financial data into practical recommendations.
- Experience mentoring or developing finance/accounting professionals.
- ERP implementation or major systems-transformation experience is highly valuable.
- Experience within construction, industrial services, field services, project-based businesses, manufacturing, skilled trades, or similar environments is helpful.
- ESOP experience is valuable but not required.
- Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment where not everything is already built or documented.
