Job DetailsOur client is seeking an experienced finance leader to oversee the organization's financial operations while serving as a trusted advisor to ownership and executive leadership. This role goes well beyond traditional accounting and offers the opportunity to influence strategic decision-making across finance, operations, human resources, administration, risk management, and business planning.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable reviewing financial statements, partnering with operational leaders, presenting financial insights to executives, and helping guide organizational growth through thoughtful analysis and sound business judgment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide executive oversight of all accounting operations and financial reporting
- Review monthly financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
- Analyze financial performance and communicate meaningful business insights to ownership
- Develop executive dashboards and KPI reporting
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning
- Monitor production costs, inventory levels, purchasing trends, and profitability
- Partner with operations leadership to improve efficiency and financial performance
- Support capital investment planning and ROI analysis
- Oversee cash flow management and financial controls
- Collaborate with HR leadership regarding benefits, performance management, insurance, and employee relations
- Partner with outside legal counsel on employment-related matters and risk management initiatives
- Participate in ERP enhancements and process improvement initiatives
- Develop and improve financial processes and internal controls
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff while providing strategic oversight rather than day-to-day transaction processing
- Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Progressive finance leadership experience
- Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred
- Experience overseeing accounting in inventory-based environments
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and business analysis
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and KPI development
- Cost accounting experience preferred
- Job costing experience is a plus
- ERP experience required
- Experience partnering with operations and executive leadership
- Exposure to HR administration, insurance, or corporate administration preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
