Position Summary:

The Director of Finance serves as the strategic finance leader for the FES Division, partnering closely with the President, Executive Leadership Team, and Private Equity ownership to drive profitable growth, operational excellence, and value creation. This role is responsible for leading all aspects of financial planning, forecasting, business performance management, strategic analysis, and decision support while developing a high-performance finance organization.

The Director acts as a trusted business advisor, translating financial insights into actionable strategies that improve operational performance, optimize capital allocation, strengthen cash flow and support long-term enterprise objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Finance Leadership

  • Serve as the senior finance partner to the Division President and executive leadership team, influencing strategic decisions through financial insight and business analysis.
  • Lead the development and execution of annual operating plans, long-range strategic plans, and rolling forecasts aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Drive enterprise value creation initiatives focused on EBITDA expansion, margin improvement, cash flow optimization, and return on invested capital.
  • Evaluate acquisitions, investments, pricing strategies, and strategic initiatives through robust financial modeling and scenario analysis.

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Lead all FP&A activities, including budgeting, forecasting, monthly business reviews, and executive reporting.
  • Develop sophisticated financial models to assess operational performance, investment opportunities, and business scenarios.
  • Deliver actionable insights through KPI dashboards, trend analysis, and predictive analytics to support informed decision-making.
  • Provide clear recommendations to executive leadership regarding risks, opportunities, and performance improvement initiatives.

Business Performance & Operational Partnership

  • Partner with Operations, Sales, Service, and Functional Leaders to improve financial performance and operational execution.
  • Drive accountability through standardized performance reviews, operating metrics, and financial scorecards.
  • Lead initiatives focused on pricing optimization, productivity improvements, cost management, working capital efficiency, and cash generation.
  • Champion data-driven decision making across the organization through enhanced reporting and business intelligence capabilities.

Financial Governance & Risk Management

  • Ensure financial integrity through strong internal controls, compliance, forecasting accuracy, and governance practices.
  • Identify enterprise risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect financial performance and support sustainable growth.
  • Oversee financial reporting, variance analysis, and executive-level presentations for senior leadership, Board of Directors, and Private Equity stakeholders.
  • Monitor key financial and operational metrics, proactively identifying emerging trends and recommending corrective actions.

Organizational Leadership

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing finance organization through coaching, mentorship, succession planning, and talent development.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and business partnership.
  • Lead finance transformation initiatives, including process improvements, automation, ERP optimization, and reporting modernization.
  • Promote best practices across financial planning, analytics, and operational finance functions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required; MBA and/or CPA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including significant experience supporting multi-site service, industrial, manufacturing, or field operations organizations.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with executive leadership to influence business strategy and operational performance.
  • Deep expertise in financial planning and analysis, forecasting, budgeting, business modeling, and performance management.
  • Experience supporting private equity-backed organizations, including EBITDA management, cash flow optimization, value creation initiatives, and Board reporting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and operational finance.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, ERP systems, business intelligence platforms, and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and executive presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to lead organizational change, develop high-performing teams, and drive continuous improvement across complex organizations.
