Director of Finance
Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Senior Level Finance Leader for a newly created Director of Finance opening with a startup and rapidly growing company based in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
Requirements of the Director of Finance
Bachelor s degree in accounting or finance required
10+ of progressive financial or accounting experience
Strong understanding of financial modeling, cost accounting and finance
Strong work ethic, and the ability to learn quickly and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities of the Director of Finance
Develop integrated financial models combining glazing energy modeling, whole-building energy modeling, utility savings, HVAC capital avoidance, incentives, tax credits, accelerated depreciation, carbon value, and financing.
Create investment analyses including ROI, IRR, NPV, payback, cash flow, and property value enhancement.
Develop executive-quality investment proposals that support customer purchasing decisions and third-party financing.
Build relationships with financial institutions, infrastructure investors, ESCOs, utilities, and leading accounting and advisory firms.
Partner with engineering, sales, product marketing, and finance and accounting to translate technical building performance into investment-grade financial analyses.
Develop standardized financial tools, proposal templates, and customer-facing investment presentations that enable the sales team to consistently communicate company s economic value proposition.
Train and support the commercial organization on energy economics, ROI, financing structures, incentives, and investment analyses to improve customer engagement and proposal conversion rates.
Design a streamlined project qualification model with a simple building data entry form that rapidly identifies high-value retrofit opportunities and prioritizes projects based on financial return, energy savings, and strategic fit.
Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance and accounting to continuously improve financial models, proposal content, and customer decision-support tools based on market feedback and project outcomes.Top of Form
Partner with the company controller to build the internal capabilities to use energy savings to determine specific product sales price based on a price setting mechanism that Bottom of Formmaximizes gross margin and EBIT.
