Key Responsibilities of the Director of Financial Reporting



  • Own the preparation and review of SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and related public company disclosures

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and close activities

  • Serve as the technical accounting expert for complex transactions and evolving accounting standards

  • Oversee external audits and coordinate with auditors on financial reporting matters

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls

  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Operations, and executive leadership on strategic initiatives

  • Support regulatory reporting requirements and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards

  • Drive process improvements to strengthen reporting accuracy, efficiency, and scalability

  • Mentor and develop accounting team members while fostering continuous improvement



Qualifications for the Director of Financial Reporting



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required

  • 10+ years of progressive Accounting and Finance experience

  • 5+ years of SEC reporting experience

  • Proven ownership of SEC reporting and public company filings

  • Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing 10-Ks, 10-Qs, and related SEC disclosures

  • Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance experience is required

  • Strong technical accounting background with deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP

  • CPA strongly preferred

  • Experience leading external audits and working within publicly traded organizations

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements
