Create the Unforgettable. Lead the Exceptional.
At Long Cove Club, food and beverage plays a central role in creating the moments where members connect, gather, and build lasting memories. From everyday dining to special occasions, these are the moments that are shared on the drive home and remembered for years to come. We are looking for a Director of Food & Beverage who lives to surprise, connects through warmth, and leads with creativity, rigor, and heart. This isn't your typical private club role. It's a chance to join a leadership team that believes hospitality should feel personal and unreasonably generous. That every detail matters. That when it comes to delighting our members, there's no such thing as "going too far."
This position will also play a key leadership role during an exciting period of growth and transformation for the Club, including an upcoming clubhouse renovation.
What You'll Do:
- Design the Unexpected – Collaborate with the Clubhouse Manager and Executive Chef to create immersive dining experiences that surprise and delight members, from themed tasting menus and off‑the‑menu moments to sommelier‑guided wine hours on the back patio.
- Lead from the Floor – Be a visible, consistent leadership presence with daily time spent on the floor, uplifting the team, coaching and mentoring emerging leaders, and reinforcing Long Cove Club service standards during everyday service and club‑wide events.
- Champion Operational Excellence – Own the numbers and the narrative-manage budgets, inventory, and vendor partnerships with the same care you bring to service and storytelling.
- Elevate Every Interaction – Set and uphold the standards that define how members experience food, service, and hospitality. Learn preferences, anticipate needs, and ensure members feel genuinely welcomed and well cared for across all dining venues and occasions.
- Partner in the Club's Future – Work closely with Club leadership to support clubhouse dining strategy, including collaboration during the upcoming renovation and ongoing efforts to strengthen service consistency and activate the clubhouse dining experience.
Success in Your First Year Looks Like:
- Providing steady, confident leadership during the clubhouse renovation, supporting service continuity, team morale, and a positive member experience throughout periods of change.
- Strengthening service consistency across all dining venues, with clear standards that are reinforced daily and experienced reliably by members.
- Elevating member engagement with the beverage program, including increased participation in tastings and events and retail wine.
- Developing emerging leaders within the Food & Beverage team through coaching, mentoring, and intentional team development.
- Partnering closely with Club leadership on the evolution of clubhouse dining, contributing insight, creativity, and operational perspective to short‑ and long‑range plans.
- Supporting and building upon a strong service team, reinforcing pride, accountability, and a shared commitment to exceptional hospitality.
You're a Fit If You:
- Have 3-5 years leading food and beverage programs in private clubs, with demonstrated knowledge of CMAA standards and member engagement.
- Active CMAA membership or demonstrated interest in membership, with intent to pursue CCM preferred.
- Thrive in both the big picture and small moments, from curating high-level strategy to noticing when a guest's glass is nearly empty.
- Balance creativity with financial savvy, your ideas excite, your execution delivers.
- Are energized by people, inspiring teams, connecting with members, and building culture through hospitality.
