ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The following duties are normal for this position.  This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive.  Other duties may be required and assigned.

 

  • Develop and implement hospitality standards and procedures.
  • Manages dining room operations, bar services, and counter-service areas.
  • Supervises and coordinates the activities of front-of-house staff.
  • Ensures proper setup and cleanliness of dining areas and service stations.
  • Monitors resident and guest satisfaction and address any concerns or complaints.
  • Plans and coordinates special dining events and activities.
  • Manages hospitality budgets and controls labor costs.
  • Hires, trains, and supervises front-of-house staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with residents, families, and guests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Directly supervises employees in the Dining Room (front of the house). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees.


Educational Requirements and Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in hospitality management, preferably in a senior living or hotel setting.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role.
  • Successful completion of a recognized managers food safety course must be obtained within probationary period of employment.
