Position Summary

The Director of Human Resources serves as the senior HR leader for Mississippi Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center, providing strategic leadership and operational oversight for all human resources functions across a multi-site healthcare organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), this role serves as a key liaison between the local organization and the Management Services Organization (MSO), U.S. Orthopaedic Partners, ensuring alignment of enterprise HR initiatives with organizational goals. The Director partners with executive leadership, physicians, practice administrators, and managers to develop and implement workforce strategies that support growth, employee engagement, talent development, retention, and organizational effectiveness.

Supporting multiple locations throughout Jackson, Oxford, and Tupelo, this position serves as a trusted advisor on employee and organizational matters, leverages HR technology and workforce analytics to support business decisions, and ensures compliance with applicable employment laws and healthcare regulations. Regular travel between locations is required to support operations, build relationships, and maintain strong partnerships with local and corporate leadership.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic HR partner to executive leadership, physicians, and managers.
  • Lead all aspects of talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and offboarding.
  • Oversee compensation, benefits administration, leave management, wellness, and employee recognition programs.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations, workplace investigations, corrective actions, and performance improvement plans.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and maintain HR policies and required postings.
  • Oversee employee data integrity, reporting, and HR metrics in HRIS (UKG)
  • Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate employee transactions and payroll processing.
  • Develop workforce strategies to improve recruitment, retention, engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Coach and support leaders on performance management, employee development, and organizational change.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for executive leadership and perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience, preferably in healthcare.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
