About DivergeIT
DivergeIT is a managed IT and cybersecurity services provider headquartered in Torrance, CA, with employees across multiple states. Backed by a private equity partner, we are growing organically and through acquisitions, with plans to grow from about 75 to 300+ employees over the next five years. We need an HR leader to build the people function that gets us there.
How We Work
We are a fast-paced, KPI-driven team. Everyone knows their numbers, and we review them weekly, monthly, and quarterly. Our people range from 20+ year veterans to new hires joining every quarter, and this role needs to serve both. We hire, coach, and review against four core values:
- Rockstar (Technical proficiency): Mastery of your craft, whatever your role. Rockstars have raving fans, both clients and teammates.
- Guardian (Protects team and partners): We defend the people who trust us, and each other. When something goes wrong, a Guardian steps toward the problem.
- Yogi (Continuous learning): Technology doesn't hold still, and neither do we. Leveling up is part of the job.
- PIT Crew (Speed and precision): Fast and right are the same job. Everyone knows their role before the car stops.
The Role
The Director of HR owns the full HR function. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will set the strategy, do the work today, and build the team and systems to support a company four times our current size. The role is 100% onsite for the first 90 days and primarily onsite after that, based in either Torrance, CA or Plano, TX.
What You Will Own
- Staff management: Lead the HR team, including an HR Generalist / HRBP, Receptionist / HR Admins in our Torrance and Plano offices, and a full-time Trainer (to be hired).
- Talent acquisition: Recruit and hire technical and sales talent (MSP technicians, engineers, business development managers). Own time to fill and quality of hire.
- Onboarding and training: Run our training platform (Trainual). Managers write the content; HR runs the system, assigns training, tracks completion, and holds managers accountable for keeping content current.
- Performance and retention: Run the quarterly KPI scorecard and review cycles, drive retention, and report people metrics to leadership and the board.
- Acquisition integration: Lead the people side of acquisitions, including due diligence, offers and benefits mapping, key staff retention, and onboarding acquired teams.
- Compliance and employee relations: Keep us compliant across every state where we have employees, maintain the handbook and policies, and manage benefits and employee relations.
- Culture: Hire and coach to our core values as the company scales.
