Job Title: HR Director

Location: Ponte Vedra Beach, FL

Workplace: Remote

Our client, a professional services organization based in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL is looking to hire their first HR Director! Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all aspects of the employee lifecycle. This role will oversee human resources operations, payroll administration, benefits management, talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, performance management, training and development, and organizational culture initiatives.

As the company's dedicated HR resource, this individual will partner closely with leadership to support business objectives while ensuring a positive employee experience, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across the organization. The Human Resources Director will play a critical role in attracting, developing, and retaining talent while fostering a high-performance, employee-centric culture

Key Responsibilities:

Human Resource Leadership:

  • Serve as the primary HR resource and trusted advisor to leadership and employees on all human resources matters.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, programs, and procedures that support organizational goals and compliance requirements.
  • Partner with executive leadership to support workforce planning, organizational development, and talent management initiatives.
  • Promote and maintain a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.

Payroll & Benefits Administration:

  • Oversee payroll administration and ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Manage employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with benefit providers, brokers, and payroll vendors.
  • Support annual benefits enrollment and employee benefit education efforts.
  • Monitor market trends and recommend enhancements to compensation and benefits programs.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning:

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and create effective recruiting strategies.
  • Lead all recruiting activities, including sourcing, interviewing, selection, and hiring of employees across the organization.
  • Develop and manage relationships with recruiting partners, job boards, and external talent resources.
  • Manage pre-employment screening, background checks, and offer processes

Onboarding & Offboarding:

  • Develop and administer onboarding programs that ensure a seamless employee transition into the organization.
  • Coordinate new hire orientation, training, and system access.
  • Manage employee separations, exit interviews, and offboarding processes.
  • Analyze employee feedback and turnover trends to identify opportunities for improvement.

Employee Relations & Performance Management:

  • Serve as a resource for employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, coaching, investigations, and performance concerns.
  • Partner with managers to address employee performance, development, and engagement.
  • Manage performance review processes and support leadership development initiatives.
  • Promote employee engagement through communication, recognition, and retention programs.

Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage HR audits, reporting requirements, and compliance initiatives.
  • Administer leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and other employee leave programs.
  • Stay current on employment law developments and recommend policy updates as needed.

Training & Development:

  • Identify organizational training needs and develop employee development programs.
  • Support leadership development, succession planning, and career growth initiatives.
  • Coordinate compliance training and professional development opportunities.

HR Operations & Systems:

  • Maintain HRIS, employee records, organizational charts, and workforce reporting.
  • Develop HR metrics and dashboards to provide insight into workforce trends and organizational effectiveness.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve HR processes to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
  • Support compensation planning, salary benchmarking, and workforce analytics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a standalone HR Generalist, HR Manager, or Business Partner role.
  • Experience in a growing/scaling company.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience managing payroll, benefits administration, employee relations, recruiting, and compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems, payroll platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • This is a remote role, up to 10% travel required.
