Position Type: Full-Time
Our client is seeking an experienced Director of ICU to provide strategic and operational leadership for the Intensive Care Unit. This individual will oversee clinical operations, staff management, quality initiatives, regulatory compliance, patient outcomes, and departmental performance while ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
The ideal candidate will have prior nursing leadership experience within an ICU environment and a proven track record of managing teams, improving patient outcomes, and driving operational excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Direct and oversee daily operations of the Intensive Care Unit.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and performance management to nursing staff and leaders.
• Develop and implement departmental goals aligned with organizational objectives.
• Monitor patient care quality, safety initiatives, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, productivity, and budget performance.
• Collaborate with physicians, clinical leaders, and executive leadership.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, state, and federal regulations.
• Drive quality improvement and patient satisfaction initiatives.
• Support recruitment, retention, and staff development efforts.
• Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective actions when needed.
• Promote a culture of accountability, patient-centered care, and continuous improvement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate's Degree from an accredited Nursing program.
• Active New Mexico RN License OR Compact RN License with ability to obtain NM RN License upon hire.
• Previous nursing leadership experience required.
• ICU clinical experience required.
• Strong knowledge of critical care nursing practices.
• Experience managing staff, operations, quality, and compliance initiatives.
• Ability to relocate to Las Cruces, NM within 30-45 days.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• BSN or MSN preferred.
• Director-level leadership experience.
• Experience in acute care hospital settings.
• Budgeting and operational management experience.
• Experience leading quality and patient safety initiatives.
