Position Title: Director of Integration & Strategic Projects

Position Summary:
The Director of Integrations & Strategic Projects is responsible for leading CDI's post-acquisition integration efforts and driving key strategic initiatives across the business. This is a highly visible, high-impact role that works closely with the executive leadership team to ensure alignment, drive accountability, and deliver value. This role partners cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, and IT to ensure integrations are executed with discipline, synergies are realized, and strategic projects deliver meaningful operational and commercial impact. The role requires strong business judgment, financial acumen, operational capability, and the ability to influence leaders across the organization.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Lead integration planning and execution, including development and continuous improvement of CDI's Integration Playbook.
- Lead cultural integration and support talent alignment for acquired businesses.
- Drive key strategic projects-operational, commercial, and growth-oriented-during periods of lower M&A activity.
- Provide structured project management, program leadership, problem solving, and decision making across acquisition integration and other major initiatives.
- Maintain clear communication, transparency, and accountability with the leadership team to support governance and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Integration Leadership
- Build, lead, and continuously enhance CDI's Integration Playbook. Implement tools and industry best practices from industry-leading integration programs.
- Drive pre-close planning and integration diligence activities to validate assumptions and identify risks.
- Oversee all acquisition integrations from deal close through full synergy realization.
- Lead and coordinate 10+ cross-functional workstreams.
- Define integration plans, timelines, interdependencies, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Maintain integration dashboards, KPIs, communication cadence, and executive reporting.
- Value Creation & Synergy Realization
- Lead synergy identification, quantification, and execution across operational, commercial, and back-office functions.
- Hold cross-functional teams accountable for delivering synergy targets.
- Track and report synergy realization, including financial impact and timelines.
- Evaluate resource constraints (capital or personnel) to maximize full synergy realization, and make recommendations to accelerate value creation.
- Partner with Finance to ensure accurate and transparent synergy tracking, reporting, and validation.
- Culture Integration & Change Management
- Develop and lead communication plans for integration and major strategic programs.
- Support acquired employees and leaders in understanding priorities, expectations, and organizational changes.
- Partner with HR and Operations to drive cultural alignment, organizational design, and talent evaluation.
- Establish proper organizational governance during transition periods through integration to ensure business is run effectively and adheres to business policies and procedures.
- Lead change management activities to ensure buy-in across all levels of the organization.
- Strategic Projects
- Scope, prioritize, plan, and lead business-critical strategic projects including operational improvement, commercial growth initiatives, and business transformation programs.
- Manage multiple concurrent priorities, including acquisition integrations and strategic initiatives.
- Provide structured problem solving, root cause analysis, and solution design.
- Facilitate decision-making across functions to ensure alignment and timely execution.
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field
Travel Requirement:
Travel to operating locations and acquisition locations estimated to be 25-40% depending on fluctuating business needs.
Required Experience:
Must have a demonstrated track record of leading/managing a successful acquisition integration function.
7–15+ years of relevant experience in roles including:
- Post-merger integration / M&A
- Large-scale transformation / strategic program leadership
- Corporate development or consulting
- Other cross-functional management or leadership roles in industrial businesses
Strongly Preferred Experience:
- Experience in engineered products, industrial manufacturing, and multi-site operations
- Prior roles in Operations leadership (production, planning, supply chain, etc.) or Commercial leadership (sales, product management, etc.)
- Strong business acumen evidenced by experience driving value-creating projects across operations, production, and/or commercial areas.
- Experience with complex ERP systems and other operating technology.
- Exposure to vertically integrated and complex manufacturing environments
