  • The initial compensation for this position ranges from $117,155.00 - $144,086.00 annually, depending on experience, location and internal equity considerations.

Overview:

Works within the vision, mission, and philosophy of the agency. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer (CDO), the Major Gifts Officer (MGO) works directly with the CDO to sustain and grow the fundraising program. The MGO will foster relationships and solicit influential/philanthropic individuals, creating enduring partnerships with Pacific Clinics (PC). This is a hybrid position with a flexible schedule but requiring in-person meetings with donors as well as zoom meetings, phone calls, emails, texts, etc.

  • This is hybrid position with primary assignment to Los Gatos, CA office. 
Responsibilities:
  • Develops and implements strategic plans to grow annual and major gift revenue in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards a portfolio of individual donors and prospects, with a focus on major gift capacity.
  • Designs and manages targeted annual giving campaigns, including direct mail, digital outreach, and special appeals.
  • Conducts donor research and develops personalized solicitation strategies.
  • Partners with executive leadership and board members to support high-level donor engagement and solicitation efforts.
  • Oversees donor stewardship activities to ensure timely acknowledgment, recognition, and reporting.
  • Analyzes donor data and campaign results to inform strategy and maximize fundraising effectiveness.
  • Coordinates with communications and marketing teams to develop compelling donor-facing materials and messaging.
  • Prepares reports, dashboards, and projections to track giving trends and fundraising progress.
  • Maintains accurate donor records and activity tracking in donor management systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge or RENXT).
  • Supports fundraising events and donor engagement initiatives as needed
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, marketing, or related field and (8) eight or more years of relevant experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience to include:
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in fundraising or development, with a strong focus on individual giving and major gifts.
  • CFRE Preferred.
  • Proven success in securing and stewarding major gifts from individuals, including face-to-face solicitation.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute annual giving campaigns that meet or exceed revenue goals.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage, cultivate, and retain donors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including donor-facing materials and presentations.
  • Proficiency in donor management and CRM systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, RENXT) and campaign analytics.
  • Strategic thinker with strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and work closely with executive leadership.
  • High degree of professionalism, discretion, and commitment to donor confidentiality.
  • Deep understanding of philanthropic trends and best practices in donor engagement and retention.
