Manatee Memorial Hospital, located in Bradenton, Florida, is seeking a dynamic nursing leader to take on the role of Director of Nursing!
The Position
The Director of Nursing (DON) will provide strategic and operational leadership for multiple inpatient nursing units, including Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, and Oncology, ensuring exceptional patient care, clinical quality, regulatory compliance, and alignment with organizational goals. Oversight will include a minimum of four inpatient units ranging from 17-32 beds each.
The DON will lead and inspire nursing leaders and frontline teams by fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement while mentoring emerging leaders and strengthening workforce engagement across the service line.
Champion initiatives that elevate the patients experience, improve quality and safety outcomes, and drive consistent clinical performance through data-driven decision-making, evidence-based practice, and measurable operational improvements.
This leader will oversee departmental operations, staffing, budgeting, productivity, and resource management, balancing multiple priorities while ensuring efficient, high-quality care delivery and responsible financial stewardship.
Partner closely with physicians, executive leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to strengthen communication, improve care coordination, and implement innovative solutions that enhance patient outcomes and operational performance.
Build high-performing teams by recruiting, developing, coaching, and holding leaders and staff accountable while creating an environment that supports professional growth, employee engagement, and leadership succession.
The DON must drive change across the inpatient division by identifying opportunities to improve workflows, standardize best practices, and create sustainable improvements in patient satisfaction, clinical quality, and organizational performance.

Requirements
BSN is required.
Masters degree is required.
Active FL RN license is required.
Active BLS, NRP, and ACLS certifications are required.
A minimum of three years of practice experience is required.
A minimum of three years of supervisory experience is required.
