    Position Summary: Director of Nursing ( RN )

    The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and overseeing all nursing services within the facility to ensure the delivery of exceptional, person-centered care. The DON provides clinical leadership, ensures compliance with all federal, state, and company regulations, develops and mentors nursing staff, and partners with the Administrator and interdisciplinary team to achieve positive clinical outcomes while fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and compassion.


    Qualifications:

    • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
    • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience in a long-term care setting
    • Previous experience as a DON or Assistant DON preferred
    • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
    • Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing nursing homes
    • Passion for providing quality care and improving resident outcomes


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide leadership and oversight for all nursing operations within the facility
    • Ensure the highest quality of resident care through effective clinical management
    • Recruit, mentor, develop, and evaluate nursing staff
    • Monitor staffing levels and ensure appropriate clinical coverage
    • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, CMS, and company regulations
    • Lead quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives
    • Oversee infection prevention and control programs
    • Participate in survey readiness and coordinate Plans of Correction as needed
    • Collaborate with the Administrator, Medical Director, and interdisciplinary team to improve resident outcomes
    • Monitor clinical documentation, resident assessments, and care planning processes
    • Manage nursing department budgets, supplies, and resources
    • Foster a positive culture focused on teamwork, accountability, resident satisfaction, and employee engagement
