POSITION OVERVIEW
<\/h1>

The Clinical Director is responsible for the overall management and oversight of the hospice nursing department, ensuring the delivery of high -quality, compliant, and compassionate patient care.

Working closely with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and executive leadership, the Clinical Director provides guidance, mentorship, and operational oversight while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous quality improvement.

This individual plays a critical role in supporting clinical staff, maintaining regulatory compliance, and promoting excellence throughout all aspects of hospice operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical Leadership

  • Provide leadership and oversight for the hospice nursing department, ensuring exceptional patient care and clinical excellence.

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop nursing staff through coaching, performance evaluations, and professional development.
    <\/li>
  • Foster a collaborative, patient -centered culture focused on compassion, accountability, and quality outcomes.
    <\/li>
  • Schedule and manage nursing staff to ensure appropriate clinical coverage and operational efficiency.

    Patient Care & Quality
    <\/h3>
    • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary team.
      <\/li>
    • Promote the delivery of compassionate hospice care that supports the physical, emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of patients and families.
      <\/li>
    • Conduct regular clinical documentation reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
      <\/li>
    • Support continuous quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.

      Regulatory Compliance

      • Ensure compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation, California state regulations, HIPAA requirements, and organizational policies.

      • Maintain confidentiality of all patient and personnel information.

      • Promote resident and patient rights while fostering a respectful, ethical, and compassionate care environment.
        <\/li>
      • Maintain survey readiness and support successful regulatory and accreditation reviews.

        Staff Development

        • Develop and facilitate education and training programs to strengthen clinical knowledge, documentation practices, and regulatory compliance.

        • Promote best practices in hospice nursing, patient care, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

            REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

            • Current, unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN)<\/b> license.

            • Minimum of three years of healthcare management experience.

            • Thorough understanding of hospice philosophy and end -of -life care.
              <\/li>
            • Experience utilizing hospice EMR systems.
              <\/li>
            • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
