Key Qualifications:

• Nursing degree from an accredited nursing program required.
• Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience in a skilled nursing, long-term care, or other healthcare setting, including supervisory or nursing leadership experience.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations, standards of practice, and requirements applicable to skilled nursing and long-term care facilities.
• Demonstrated knowledge of clinical operations, resident care, infection prevention and control, quality assurance/performance improvement, and nursing staff management.
• Ability to exercise sound clinical and administrative judgment and make independent decisions within the scope of the position.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, staff, physicians, regulatory agencies, and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

• The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Nursing Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the facility. Under the direction of the Administrator, and the Regional Director of Clinical Operations, the DON will work with clinical staff to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
